Elena sighed silently as she parked the car at the gates of the Moretti Estate.
"Oh God," she muttered in her thoughts, glancing at Sophie who was humming beside her. "This girl is putting me under so much pressure. I don't know how long I can keep the truth away from her."
She leaned back slightly in her seat.
"Or should I just tell her? That her father was a scammer? That he never even knew she existed? No… I can't. Not now."
She shook her head softly.
"Telling a five-year-old that her dad didn't love her or know about her… that's the kind of trauma I won't be able to fix. No matter how strong I act."
With a deep breath, she muttered, "I'll wait. When she's older… when she can handle the truth."
Just then, the car slid to a stop at the front of the grand estate. The iron gates opened slowly, revealing the beautiful front garden and the vintage Moretti mansion standing tall with grace. Everything had been restored to its original glory.
