Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 8: Meeting Susan.

CHAPTER 8: Meeting Susan.

A few minutes later, Mia arrived at the SKY Hotel. She looked around but couldn't spot Susan anywhere. She called Susan to ask where she was.

As soon as the phone rang, Susan picked up and said,

"Konnichiwa."

Mia rolled her eyes, thinking,

"Look at who I was worried about."

"Where are you now? I'm at the hotel, but I don't see you anywhere," Mia asked.

"Oh, I'm no longer at the hotel," Susan replied.

Mia's tone turned worried. "Then where are you? Seo-ui!!!(Oh My!!!)did you get arrested?"

Susan's response was laced with sarcasm.

"Wow, how did you know? My bestie is so smart. I never knew you could use your phone in jail."

Mia felt irritated.

"Are you being sarcastic with me right now?"

Susan smiled innocently and said,

"If you didn't ask me a foolish question, I wouldn't have answered you in a foolish way."

Mia was too angry to speak. She took a deep breath, trying to calm down.

"It seems like you don't want to stay with me anymore, so I'll just pretend I came out for a walk and head back home."

Mia turned to leave, heading back to her car.

Susan's tone changed.

"What? Mia, you know I was just joking, right? Why are you getting angry over such a little thing?"

Mia raised an eyebrow at the phrase

"little thing."

Knowing Mia was on the verge of exploding, Susan quickly tried to calm her down.

"Mia, wifey, don't be angry, okay? I'm the foolish one, the crazy one. Don't mind me; sometimes I'm not in my right senses."

Susan pretended to cry, saying,

"If you leave me here, where will I go?"

Mia sighed loudly, feeling tired, and eventually gave in.

"Where are you?" I asked.

Susan laughed.

"I knew you wouldn't leave me alone. I just knew it."

I threatened her,

"Yes, you know me well but you also know,If you don't tell me where you are, I'll leave you immediately."

"Wait, wait, I'll tell you,i will tell you"she said.

"I'm at a Chinese restaurant on West Street."

I raised an eyebrow.

"Chinese restaurant?"

"Yes, Chinese restaurant," she confirmed.

I was puzzled.

"How did you get there? Didn't you say you were broke and couldn't pay the hotel staff? And you're also hungry. But now you're at a Chinese restaurant? Are you kidding me?"

As I spoke, I got into my car and drove towards the restaurant.

Susan explained,

"Well, after you hung up earlier, the hotel staff surrounded me, demanding payment. I told them a friend was coming, but they wouldn't let me go. It was so embarrassing."

She continued with a big smile on her face,

"But then, a handsome guy came to my rescue. He paid the hotel bill and even brought me to this Chinese restaurant."

I nodded, feeling a bit jealous. "So, that's what happened. Even in an embarrassing situation, a handsome guy still came to save you. I wonder when my own handsome oppa will come and sweep me off my feet

"Don't worry, he's just around the corner,"

Susan said with a teasing smile.

"Anyway, when you arrive, just give me a call, okay?"

I agreed and hung up.

A few minutes later, I arrived at the Chinese restaurant and called Susan to let her know.

"Susan, I'm in front of the restaurant. Where are you?"

"By any chance are you the one standing in front of a red car?" she asked.

I was surprised.

"How did you know that?"

"How wouldn't I know? I'm looking at you right now," she said with a smile.

I raised an eyebrow, realizing she must be outside the restaurant, watching me.

I searched for her, but it wasn't hard to spot her. She was staring at me with a big smile on her face. I looked at her for a moment and said on the phone,

"I was expecting fat, tall, with tattoos all over your body. This is quite disappointing. Your character and looks are worlds apart."

I said it in a teasing tone, walking towards her. Susan shot back,

"Are you for real? How do I even look like that? Your sense of imagination is questionable."

She had a teasing smile on her face, walking towards me.

When we stood face-to-face, we stared at each other for a moment, looking like we might "kill" each other. But then we simultaneously shouted and hugged each other tightly.

"Wifey!" Susan exclaimed.

"Husband!" I replied, both of us excited to finally meet.

"My God, I've finally met the great Susan Collins," I said, still hugging her

"Likewise, I've finally met my wifey, Mia Heros," Susan said.

"It's so nice finally meeting you,"

Susan replied, playfully hitting my butt.

"Nice meeting you too,"

I said, returning the gesture and hitting her butt.

The funny thing was that everyone around us was staring, seemingly perplexed by our behavior.

It took us a while to notice the attention. When we did, we exchanged embarrassed glances.

"Let's get out of here quickly, okay?" I suggested.

"Yeah, let's leave. They're staring at us like we're clowns," Susan said, covering her face.

We both smiled and hastily left the scene.

Once we reached my car, we got in and drove off. As we were driving, I suddenly remembered something and asked,

"Why didn't I see your little admirer earlier?"

"Oh, you mean James?" she replied.

"Is that his name?" I asked, and she nodded.

"I see. But where did he go? I didn't see him there."

Susan explained, "Well, not long after you arrived, he received an urgent call, so he had to leave."

I asked,

"Did he at least get your number?"

"Yeah, he did," she replied.

I gave her that sus(suspicion)look.

"Why are you staring at me like that?" she asked,

I played dumb, pretending as if i didn't understand what she was saying.

"Staring at you like how?"

"You're staring at me like you can see right through me," Susan said, sounding irritated.

"But I can see right through you," I replied matter-of-factly.

"The Susan I know wouldn't give just any guy her number," I said confidently.

"Wow, is that confidence for me?" Susan asked.

I kept looking at her, waiting for her to admit it. "Please focus on the road and stop staring at me. I don't want to die young," she said.

"Then just admit it," I pressed.

"Okay, fine. My wifey is so smart. She knows me so well – happy now?" she said.

"I knew it. But how did you manage not to give him your number?" I wondered aloud.

"Why are you always so curious?" Susan asked, sounding annoyed.

"Because I'm Mia, that's why I'm always curious about everything," I replied.

"I just gave him a wrong number, that's all," she said.

"Wow, so bad," I said, shaking my head.

"What do you know?" Susan asked.

"What do you mean? I know a lot, okay?" I replied.

"Yeah, sure. Say the girl who's never been in a serious relationship before," Susan teased.

"Look who's talking – the girl who's got guys lining up like they're drinking water," I shot back.

"Well, I'm better than you. At least I have experience," Susan said, sticking out her tongue at me.

"So childish," I said, rolling my eyes.

"You're the childish one," she retorted.

"Whatever," I said, and we continued driving to my place in silence.
