Chapter 93 - Sport week

It was time for the annual sports week of our school, and everyone was truly hyped up for this moment. There were generally only two houses:

The White Tigers:

Liabilities

Jangla

Tsunami

Ori

ON NO

Oppa

July Boy

The Red Beans:

Sam

Roslin

Chingla

Flower

Sung

Preguy

Yeah, exactly—first, there's this cool and eye-catching White Tigers, and then there's… Red Beans. I guess, judging by the name alone, we can already tell who's better.

The two teams had an intense staredown at each other, led by their respective flag bearers…

Liabilities stood tall, thrusting his flag into the air, and screamed, "WE ARE!"

His team roared back, "WHITE TIGERS!"

Feeling the energy, Sam, determined not to be left out, turned to his team and shouted, "WE ARE!"

…But nothing happened.

Crickets.

Not a single person responded. Just silence.

Sam, with a look of utter defeat, tried again, louder this time. "WE ARE—"

Roslin and Flower furiously smacked Sam. "We ain't gonna scream such a lame name! And how did you even come up with something this ridiculous?!"

Rubbing his head, Sam groaned. "How was I supposed to know?! It was purely a coincidence! You guys told me to write an explosive name down on a piece of paper, and after we all wrote and submitted them, the teacher happened to pick mine!"

"Yeah, yeah, we all know that," Roslin snapped. "But why on earth did you write 'Red Beans' of all things?!"

"How was I supposed to know we were picking group names?!" Sam defended himself. "You just told me to write an explosive name, and all I knew was that eating red beans explodes the toilet!"

Jangla immediately burst into laughter. "Pfft—At this point why don't you guys just rename your entire team name into diarrhea?"

The red beans looked at Sam in annoyance for the embarrassing situation he have created.

Jangla smirked. "Well, you guys can go ahead and explode the toilet after you lose—just try not to explode on the field."

Sam clenched his fists. "We'll explode, alright—but not the toilet. We'll explode our way to victory—right in your faces!"

"We'll see about that at the end of sports week," Jangla replied smugly, and with that, the first day of sports week began.

Day 1 Events:

Chess

High Jump

Long Jump

100m Sprint

200m sprint

The first match was chess—two players per team.

Red Beans:

Sam

Achem (NPC)

White Tigers:

Oppa

July Boy

However, unfortunately for the White Tigers, July Boy didn't show up for the match, which meant he was disqualified by default.

"Tough luck," Sam said. "We didn't want this to be a handicap."

Oppa dramatically placed a hand on their hip and pouted. "Oh, come on, boys! Don't be shy~ I promise I'll go easy on you. Unless… you want me to be rough?"

Achem, immediately pushed his chair back. "NOPE. I'm out."

Sam followed suit, nodding aggressively. "Y-Yeah, me too. I—I think I suddenly forgot how to play chess."

Oppa sighed, flipping their hair. "Tsk, such a shame. I was really looking forward to handling both of you at once."

Sam and Achem simultaneously shivered. "We forfeit. Just give him first place."

The referee, confused, hesitated. "Uh… so you two are just gonna play against each other for second place?"

Sam and the Achem nodded so fast they could've snapped their necks.

Oppa giggled, resting their chin on their palm. "Well, if that's how you boys want to do it~ I'll be waiting for my prize after this."

Even during their match, Sam and the NPC were still traumatized, unable to focus properly. In the end, Achem managed to come in second place while Sam, still shaking, ended up in third.

Final Results for Chess:

1st Place: Oppa (White Tigers) - 20 points

2nd Place: Achem (Red Beans) - 10 points

3rd Place: Sam (Red Beans) - 5 points

Even with the handicap, the Red Beans still ended up losing to the White Tigers in the first match.
