Bruuum~ Bruuum~ Brum~
At the entrance of Lux, Lucifer Morningstar's nightclub, a 1967 black and shiny AC Cobra 427 came to a stop.
The people waiting in line to enter fell silent, surprised, and turned their gaze toward the vehicle.
Even the bouncer, standing at the door, was fascinated by that jewel on wheels.
We're talking about a car whose estimated value ranged between 900 thousand and 1.2 million dollars.
The valet was the first to react. As soon as the car door opened, he hurried to approach the driver.
The man who got out of the car was tall. The young man would swear that if he wasn't quite two meters tall, he was very close.
He had snow-white hair, messy, falling in strands over his face and partially hiding his forehead and part of his eyes.
He was also wearing a black suit, shirt included, without a tie.
When their eyes met, the valet froze for a moment.
He had never been attracted to men, but there was something about him that left him fascinated.
His eyes were an unusual light blue, almost ethereal. In his irises, he swore he had seen the sky itself.
"I… could I have your contact number…?" the valet asked, completely forgetting his job for a moment.
Satoru smiled, amused, and gave him a friendly pat on the shoulder.
"Sorry. Ask me in a million years… Maybe by then I'll have gotten bored of women."
"I-I… I'm so sorry! That's not what I meant… I don't even like men…" the young man stammered nervously, looking away toward the car.
"Don't feel confused. Since God brought me to this city, desire has been the only thing I've seen reflected in human eyes."
Satoru was not lying.
The number of people who had approached him trying to flirt since he arrived in Los Angeles already far exceeded those who had done so during his entire first life.
That, in itself, was sad. Satoru was not going to deny it.
"Be careful. And don't overthink it," he said calmly, handing over the car keys without hesitation.
It was the same valet Lucifer Morningstar trusted to take care of his beloved 1962 Chevrolet Corvette Tuxedo Black.
And Satoru did not hesitate to trust him with his 1967 AC Cobra 427 as well.
He had invested all the initial funds the System gave him in buying that vehicle and in shares of companies with a promising future.
He had heavily invested in NVIDIA, Tesla, and Bitcoin.
He also diversified with Apple, Microsoft, Ethereum, and Amazon.
He planned to sell everything between 2020 and 2022, right when they reached their peak.
It was currently 2016.
And when 2021 came — because Satoru admitted he was greedy — he intended to invest in digital lands: like NFTs and everything riding the tech fever.
Of course, he would sell everything before the 2022 crash.
Satoru had also tried to invest in WayneTech, but found no company by that name.
He didn't find cities like Gotham, Star City, Central City, or similar ones either.
The only logical conclusion was that he had been sent to a relatively quiet version of Earth, one where Lucifer had decided to retire from Hell and settle among mortals.
There was no other explanation.
However: he discovered cities like Metropolis and National City did exist.
Even the town of Smallville existed on this Earth.
That's why Satoru concluded this was Earth-38.
One of the multiple realities of the Multiverse, home to superheroes like Superman and Supergirl.
He didn't find much information about Supergirl, but knew there was someone named Kara Danvers.
A quick search with her name and that of her adoptive parents, Jeremiah and Eliza Danvers, was enough to find her.
At this moment, Kara worked as personal assistant to Cat Grant, director and owner of CatCo Worldwide Media.
As for the Last Son of Krypton, the Man of Steel, the Man of Tomorrow…
Satoru was surprised to discover Clark Kent lived in Smallville, with his wife, Lois Lane, and their two teenage sons: Jonathan and Jordan Kent.
Clark and Lois had decided to move to the Kent Farm after the death of Clark's mother, Martha.
So far, that was all Satoru had managed to discover about Clark and Kara.
Finally, Satoru crossed the entrance of Lux. The bouncer made no objection to seeing him pass directly, without lining up.
No one protested.
Anyway, they couldn't.
He calmly headed to the bar, where he immediately recognized the waitress: Mazikeen "Smith," originally Mazikeen of the Lilim.
He had no intention of talking to her; he just wanted to order a drink and hang out.
He also hoped to have the chance to meet Lucifer in person.
Mazikeen stared at him intently, almost shooting him down with her gaze.
She had that dangerous aura that silently warned it was better to keep away.
But Satoru didn't flinch.
Not even when he knew Mazikeen had his demon-metal daggers — the only weapons in this universe capable of killing him — did he feel fear.
After all, he still had his Infinity.
"What'll you have?" Mazikeen asked with a completely stoic face, wiping the bar with a rag.
"Two whiskeys. One for me and one for my new friend, Mazikeen."
Satoru looked at the man beside him, who had ordered for him, and smiled back.
Mazikeen rolled her eyes.
"Lucifer…"
Satoru hadn't expected to have the chance to meet him so soon.
"What are you waiting for? I don't want my friend to have a dry throat. He just wants a drink to quench his thirst," Lucifer insisted casually.
Mazikeen snorted and threw the rag forcefully on the bar before turning to prepare the drinks.
While she poured both whiskeys, Lucifer leaned on the bar and looked at him fixedly with his characteristic smile.
Satoru smiled awkwardly, noticing he was trying to flirt with him.
He knew Lucifer was bisexual, but didn't expect to catch his attention.
"So, what's your name, human...? Since the dawn of time, I've never felt such a strong urge to thank Father for creating humans…"
A peculiar way to try to seduce someone.
"I don't like men." Satoru was straightforward, with an awkward, almost amused smile.
Lucifer didn't flinch. His charismatic smile remained intact.
"That's because you've never been with me," Lucifer replied confidently.
Satoru shook his head.
He liked women. Nothing more, nothing less.
He didn't have fragile masculinity to get upset when another man tried to flirt with him.
He wasn't going to get mad over something so trivial.
And, honestly… he didn't want to offend Lucifer, one of the most powerful beings in the universe, second only to God, the Presence.
He was pretty sure not even his Infinity could save him if Lucifer really decided to kill him.
Although, looking closely… Satoru noticed he looked quite a bit like his version from the show, played by Tom Ellis.
Maybe Lucifer wasn't as powerful as he had imagined…?
"I see you're finally interested…" Lucifer moved a bit closer, noticing Satoru's expression.
"No. Not at all." Satoru answered directly and bluntly.
Without wasting more time, he pulled some papers from inside his suit.
"What's this…? A consent contract?" Lucifer took the papers with curiosity, wearing a mischievous smile, and examined them.
After a moment, he returned the documents with a frown; his smile had disappeared.
"What does this mean?" he asked, stepping away from the bar.
"From now on, the building where Lux is located, the Sunset Tower, belongs to me. I am the new owner."
Yes. Satoru had bought Lux, or rather, the entire building where the club was located.
Before Lucifer misinterpreted his intentions, Satoru quickly clarified:
"I have no intention of evicting you. I love Lux."
His gaze scanned the room until it rested for a few seconds on the piano, in the center, where Lucifer usually played and sang to entertain people.
"So, what brings you here?" Lucifer asked, switching to a friendlier tone upon realizing there would be no problems with the new owner.
"The former owner of Lux, Dean Cooper, was murdered. And his son, Eric Cooper, unlike me, planned to evict you."
Lucifer's eyes widened in surprise.
"Then let's toast to the new owner. Though it seems I owe you a favor now."
"Really?" Satoru smiled amused. "Yes, I think so."
A favor from Lucifer, from an angel, was very valuable.
Mazikeen finally served their drinks and stayed watching the conversation attentively.
Lucifer drank his whiskey in one gulp.
Satoru looked at him surprised and took a small sip of his own.
"Eleanor Bloom has been buying every single one of Dean Cooper's properties since his murder," Satoru said suddenly.
"That sounds suspicious," Lucifer replied thoughtfully.
"Eleanor had a strange rivalry with Dean. After his death, she began acquiring all the properties Eric had to destroy them."
"Then she's clearly the killer," Lucifer concluded. "You just helped me solve a case. Though only a bit. I was going to solve it anyway."
"Don't expect me to thank you or give you credit for it. She never does," spat Mazikeen, annoyed, from the other side of the bar.
Lucifer paid no attention.
"Yes, but she's not the killer," Satoru said with a amused smile, taking another drink. "Just an opportunist."
Finally, he had come to the conclusion that this Lucifer resembled the one from the show much more than the comics.
He probably had the same power, being the most powerful being in the universe, second only to God.
But Earth could never host such power.
And after his fall and exile to Hell…
Lucifer didn't have all his power currently.
He still had to be extremely powerful; after all, he ruled Hell for a long time.
He was once known in Heaven, in the Silver City, as God's Right Hand, Samael, the Lightbringer.
But he was nothing compared to the Lucifer Satoru expected to find.
"How are you so sure…?" Lucifer looked at him, puzzled.
"Because the real killer is Christi, Eric's fiancée, Dean Cooper's son."
"That makes no sense," Lucifer replied, shaking his head. "Both I and the inspector have determined neither Eric nor Christi are suspects."
"Dean fabricated false evidence against Christi, deceived Eric with other men, and blackmailed her to stay away from his son's life," Satoru explained.
"And he shamelessly celebrated with a bottle of champagne. That's how he was killed. Christi was the killer." Lucifer finished, reaching the final conclusion.
Turning around, he added with an ironic smile:
"I have to leave. I just solved a case. I can't wait to tell the Inspector."
He left Lux instantly, and Satoru couldn't help but smile amused.
"I told you so." Mazikeen suddenly interrupted. "He says he solved it, but he hasn't done anything. Typical Lucifer."
Satoru let out a small chuckle.
"So? Are you finally going to say who you are?" Mazikeen insisted. "I don't buy your good-boy act helping the devil."
Mazikeen stuck one of her daggers into the bar with a threatening gesture.
