[Ding!]
[New entry added to the database!]
[Guardian Knight (Blue): You have sworn to protect the students and the castle. Your reputation and abilities are recognized by the castle, granting you the qualification to command some of the castle's protective magic.]
Deviro was puzzled when this entry notification appeared as Professor McGonagall cast the Stone Guardians spell.
This was also the first time he realized that entries could be obtained this way.
He turned his head to glance at Professor McGonagall — and then noticed something surprising: she had a similar entry.
[Hogwarts Deputy Headmistress (Purple): Your character is recognized by the castle, granting you the qualification to command most of the protective magic within Hogwarts, excluding the Headmaster's office.]
Previously, Deviro had only paid attention to entries related to direct abilities.
He hadn't focused much on title entries.
(Sorry, this is a small patch I'm adding ╥_╥)
After all, being able to command protective magic didn't seem very useful to him personally.
But now, looking at the Stone Guardians neatly lined up before him, he realized — this kind of power was enormous!
He could command an army!
It also seemed likely that each Head of House had a similar entry.
However, Professor McGonagall's Head of House entry had likely merged into her Deputy Headmistress title.
At this moment, McGonagall's expression was a little out of control.
It was rare to see her open her eyes so wide — usually only when she was truly furious.
Deviro turned his attention back to the spellcasting he had just performed, frowning slightly.
There were so many Stone Guardians... how exactly should he control them in battle?
Judging from Professor McGonagall's actions earlier, there seemed to be a pre-set formation or battle stance involved.
He figured he would have to study it carefully.
Deviro turned again toward Professor McGonagall.
"Professor, I would like to ask, how did you control them to form that defensive stance earlier?"
"Ah?"
McGonagall was still shocked that Deviro had activated the Stone Guardians successfully on his first attempt.
Hearing his question, she paused for a moment.
"Oh, oh, the defensive stance, right?" She finally responded, taking a deep breath and adjusting her mood.
Internally, she couldn't help but criticize her earlier judgment.
What 'mediocre talent'? This is talent not seen in twenty years! He's even a level stronger than James Potter!
While thinking, she walked over to the Stone Guardians.
"If you want them to perform effective attacks or defenses, you need to start by controlling individual soldiers and build up a tacit understanding over time.
It usually takes a relatively long period—about three... uh... about a month or so.
I have some related books I can lend you for reference."
Recalling Deviro's terrifying performance earlier, McGonagall felt he might master the control of Stone Guardians even faster than she did.
Deviro nodded slightly at her explanation, though his brows remained furrowed.
He looked around at the two hundred or so Stone Guardians standing silently in the secret chamber.
Then he looked back at McGonagall and asked,
"Professor, you said it's best to start by controlling a single Stone Guardian.
In your experience, how many Stone Guardians can you control at most?"
Hearing this question, McGonagall was slightly stunned — she clearly hadn't expected it.
"At most... if it were me, the most manageable number would be around eighty," she answered after some thought.
She scanned the secret chamber again, tapping her wand thoughtfully.
"And if we're talking about the absolute limit... about one hundred and twenty, but the combat effectiveness would decrease compared to controlling eighty properly."
McGonagall's answer was somewhat optimistic.
In fact, when she first started, even controlling three Stone Guardians to execute the simplest commands had been incredibly difficult.
(Even in the magical world, it wasn't easy.)
Being able to control eighty Stone Guardians was the result of thirty years of continuous refinement and teaching.
Even now, she had never truly unleashed their full combat potential.
(Though she secretly wanted to try it.)
Thinking about it, it made sense.
Despite the various troubles over the decades, the only person who truly dared to attack Hogwarts was Voldemort — and even then, it was after Dumbledore had passed away.
This also indirectly proved that Hogwarts' reputation as the safest place in Britain was not exaggerated.
"One hundred and twenty?"
Deviro stroked his chin thoughtfully.
Judging from his magic consumption earlier, his current magic power and control level could handle maybe ten Stone Guardians at most.
And even then, without complex operations.
Ordering them to attack or defend in intricate patterns was simply impossible right now.
It looked like he'd have to study the books McGonagall mentioned.
A little discouraged, Deviro thought:
It seems it'll be impossible to replicate Professor McGonagall's majestic Stone Guardian army in a short time.
He sighed.
"The effect of this golden entry feels average," he muttered.
Turning, Deviro walked deeper into the secret chamber, looking around at the two hundred Stone Guardians surrounding him.
He couldn't help but imagine himself waking them all up — commanding them like an army.
Punching Voldemort in the face!
Kicking the Tyn'daros Covenant into pieces!
A silly grin appeared on his face.
At that moment, Deviro noticed the entry upgrade card in his panel.
"Oh, right, I was so busy learning new spells before that I forgot to use you!"
Without hesitation, Deviro selected the long-awaited upgrade card and activated it!
[Ding!]
[Entry upgrade successful!]
[Shapeshifting Spirit (Red): You possess unparalleled insight, allowing you to perceive the past history and internal structure of objects.
This is the true foundation of transformation.
In actual transformation, you have supreme control.
There is nothing you cannot transform — unless you have never seen it before.
You are virtually a natural-born master of shapeshifting!]
The moment the upgrade succeeded, a strange power surged from Deviro's heart!
It was like a warm spring flowing through his entire body.
And then like countless tiny rays of light — spreading outward endlessly.
The feeling was so strong that Deviro almost couldn't stand!
But he didn't collapse.
Instead, he felt as if his consciousness had exceeded the limits of his physical body — merging with the world itself!
In that moment, his perception broadened beyond anything he had ever experienced.
His understanding of the world soared to a new height.
He could intuitively see the internal structures of everything around him.
He could also deeply understand the essential properties of these objects!
Not only that — he could even perceive their history and development processes!
It was an indescribable ability.
Almost god-like.
With just a thought, he could freely reshape the structure and properties of any object.
And — most terrifying of all — he could restore everything exactly as it was, leaving no trace!
