Ericka has arrived at her destination; she went to the house of an acquaintance of her parents. Embarrassing as it may be, she needs to stay here for two weeks. She shouldn't waste any time.
Tonight, she will look for a safe place away from the people lurking around the warehouse.
Ericka is grateful to the people who welcomed her.
"I'm sorry, Auntie Laica, for deciding to spend my semestral break here." That's all she could say while helping with the dinner preparations.
Her aunt just smiled faintly. "What are you talking about? We rarely have visitors." The comment made her laugh.
She just smiled then; they were about to have dinner, and she had only two children.
"We have a visitor, Mom?" Her child then asked.
The guest is her childhood friend, and they grew up together.
"Yes, Ericka." Said the kind Laica, turning to her questioning child.
"Hey, it's Ericka! Good thing you thought of visiting here." Gerald greeted her happily and even patted her on the back.
"I just thought of coming here. I'm getting tired of the city, so I'm here in the province." She replied.
"Eh, that's good to hear, Ericka." One of her children chimed in.
"You're already here, William." Another one of her children greeted Ericka.
"Yeah, I need to eat first so I have strength for my night shift." She heard the man in front of her say.
She needs to be careful with what she says because her parents don't know she is here, and she is not with her grandparents.
"Thank you very much for accepting me." Ericka politely said to her companions.
Gerald just messed up Ericka's hair. To be honest, Gerald, her childhood friend, has another sibling. Two years have passed since the discovery of their only sister's lifeless body in the nearby town. They no longer talk about it because what happened to her current residence she was in is still painful.
Ericka looked at the picture of Faith, their youngest, and Gerald back then. Occasionally, she sees it in her dreams, and she just clenches her fists because she couldn't do anything.
After dinner, she also noticed that William had left for work. She sometimes gets confused as to why, during her thoughts and travels, she feels like she sees William.
Ericka just ignored it. She was in the room where the murdered woman was. She didn't understand why it was so comfortable for her; she was always welcome in her room.
Sometimes, it sees the past of how it was also killed without a fight.
I see Faith; she is becoming a lost soul in this world. She sadly said to herself and just sighed.
How can I help Faith? She thought of how to repay the family who took her in.
Find out what Faith wants to do, Ericka. She jumped up because someone whispered in her ear, and a bitter breeze brushed against her.
So she immediately turned around and saw Felisa, covered in blood.
"Do you know Faith?" Ericka only asked about the soul.
Felisa only nodded in response to her. The incident is sad for Faith; she cried and cried before all her memories disappeared. Even in her heart, she couldn't bring herself to forgive. Ericka told the person she was talking to that she was also feeling sad.
She just sighed. "Thank you very much." She briefly spoke to the soul that appeared to her.
It suddenly disappeared like a bubble from her sight. She just sighed.
The residents did not know that Ericka had abilities; she would rather not involve the quiet family that had given her a home and food. She needs to take care of herself because she knows no one will save her.
Ericka still can't shake off the thought of who she will be with. Her gut feeling that she would face Thalia again was still strong. She just lay down and closed her eyes.
Once again engulfed by darkness, Ericka simply rose and strolled along the void of light. Ericka had grown accustomed to this experience.
She sees images of people talking, but she cannot hear them. A man holding a notebook caught her eye; on each page, she saw dried blood. Although she was unsure, she strongly sensed a connection to the journeys she was witnessing.
She suddenly woke up and stared at the ceiling. She got up, searched for her phone, and checked the time.
She sighed.
It's almost midnight. Ericka thought to herself.
Ericka got up; she needed to look at the place while she was here. She must fortify her resolve to find the answers to the questions that are weighing heavily on her mind and giving her headaches.
She wore a hooded jacket for protection against the cold weather. She stepped out of the room; the surroundings were dark and quiet. She was careful with her steps so she wouldn't get caught. Ericka brought a flashlight. Her actions were successful, and she immediately reached the door.
She carefully turned the doorknob, and once she was outside, she also delicately closed the door of the house.
She hurriedly left, and before she moved away from the house, she stared at it. She will return to the house, where the people who are soundly asleep have not yet woken up.
She traversed the unfamiliar forest; she was cautious with her movements to avoid getting into trouble.
