Chapter 93 - The Storm Begins to Rise

"Raiden, be honest with me, are you and Tony really not brothers?" Pepper looked at Raiden seriously.

Raiden raised his head and looked at Pepper in confusion, saying with great puzzlement.

"Why do you say that, Pepper? That's impossible."

"Sorry." Pepper lowered her head, rubbing her forehead with her hand, then looked up at Raiden somewhat helplessly.

"Because you and Tony are like two peas in a pod... now get out!" There was a hint of anger in Pepper voice.

The female secretary sitting on Raiden lap quickly stood up, straightened her clothes, and scurried out past Pepper.

"Anna, remember to bring up two boxes of cookies later, and a cola with ice!" Raiden shouted at the back of his secretary.

"Okay, boss." Anna didn't dare to look back, responded and quickly left.

Pepper glanced back, then closed the office door.

"Here you go." Pepper threw a pile of documents onto Raiden desk, and Raiden picked them up and started reading them earnestly...

"Do you understand them?"

"Uh..."

Facing Pepper soul-searching question, Raiden was speechless.

Pepper shook her head helplessly and asked.

"Raiden, what's wrong with you? You actually... came to work and demanded to handle so many documents. This isn't like you."

Raiden sighed, spread the documents in his hands on the table, and looked at Pepper, saying.

"I'm bored, and besides, I've never worked before, so I came to experience it."

Pepper nodded somewhat helplessly.

"Alright then, but if there are any important documents you must ask me first either on Ins or have someone notify me." Pepper looked at Raiden seriously.

"Of course." Raiden quickly nodded.

After getting Raiden assurance, Pepper breathed a sigh of relief and turned to walk towards the door, but when she reached the doorway, she stopped, turned back to Raiden, and said.

"Do you know about Tony recently... never mind."

"Huh?"

Before Raiden could react, Pepper had already left.

Tony? What's wrong with Tony? Raiden scratched his head in confusion.

But soon, Raiden put the question out of his mind, replaced by... a heart full of novelty and joy.

Raiden walked to the window, standing at the top of Stark Tower over 700 meters high, overlooking everything below. From here, Raiden could even see his own home in the distance, in the direction of the kitchen.

When Raiden was bored at home, he found the best place to go, Stark Tower—Raiden also held the title of executive director here, which was something Raiden hadn't expected.

It turned out that after the battle with Obadiah, Tony transferred a significant amount of Stark Industries shares to Raiden and Yinsen, and now both Raiden and Yinsen had become directors of Stark Industries.

The reason Raiden chose to come to Stark Tower was because there were many people here, and frequent interactions with people helped Raiden control his emotions.

Moreover, the heavy workload could also divert Raiden attention, couldn't it?

Although Raiden didn't really understand much of the work content, it didn't matter.

But what Raiden really didn't expect was that the feeling of working was actually quite good.Every day when Raiden arrived at the company, various attractive female subordinates would come up to him, asking about his well-being.

While sitting in the office, there was also a team of secretaries outside ready to serve him at any moment, which was much more interesting than staying idle at home.

However, after a few days, Raiden noticed a problem: Who is the chairman of this company?

Damn it, Tony!

Raiden had been here for four days and hadn't seen a trace of him.

As for Pepper, my goodness! Raiden genuinely felt that Pepper annual salary of $3.7 million was a rip-off.

Although Pepper salary, including various bonuses, could exceed $5 million, which is undoubtedly a sky-high figure for an ordinary executive assistant.

But for Pepper, a woman who handles the roles of chairman, CEO, president, and other major positions, it's way too little.

In the entire company, you couldn't find Tony Stark presence, it was all Pepper Potts shadow.

Even Raiden couldn't help but occasionally remark these past few days that Tony was a real jerk for not marrying Pepper yet.

A woman who has silently devoted ten years to you is truly rare. Raiden felt it was necessary to find some time to give Tony a nudge.

Coincidentally, Raiden, Tony, and Yinsen hadn't seen each other recently. Tony was probably busy tinkering with his suit again, and Yinsen, oh, Raiden felt he might get married even earlier than Tony... And Raiden himself had his own issues, he was busy, wasn't he?

"Anna, where's my milk? Hurry up, darling!" Raiden picked up the phone on his desk and urged.

After a while, Raiden secretary Anna came in with the milk, followed by someone else—Wayne.

"Good afternoon, sir" Wayne waved at Raiden.

"Hello, Wayne" Raiden waved back and invited him to sit down, which slightly surprised Anna, as she hadn't expected a small driver to be so close to the big boss.

After Anna left the office and closed the door, Raiden asked Wayne.

"Wayne, what's on your mind?"

Wayne hesitated for a moment and then shared his thoughts, which ultimately boiled down to work issues.

After the initial excitement of becoming a superhero assistant faded, Wayne felt somewhat lost.

Because Wayne daily work was just too monotonous. He just sat in the company or in a coffee shop, making his job seem like sitting around aimlessly anywhere.

Of course, Wayne wouldn't sit at home because his parents would be worried sick.

But this wasn't what Wayne wanted. He wanted to work, idly earning a weekly salary as high as $3,700 made Wayne uneasy.

Moreover, Wayne was very worried that when Raiden needed him, when Raiden became a superhero and needed him, he might not be prepared.

So Wayne needed to get something from Raiden, at least to let him do something.

Well, Wayne concerns made Raiden think. Maybe Raiden should ask Tony what he usually had Happy do.

But suddenly, Raiden had a great idea. Yes, he found something very important to assign to Wayne.

"Wayne, you must remember, never let this person discover you, understand? This person possesses incredibly powerful magic, and no one can keep their inner secrets in front of them. This is an extremely dangerous individual, got it?" Raiden spoke earnestly to Wayne.

"Yes, sir!" Wayne nodded, a look of determination on his face. He would definitely handle this matter well!

Watching Wayne stride out of the office with a resolute air, Raiden breathed a sigh of relief, sat down in his chair, and drained the glass of milk on the table in one gulp.

At that moment, Pepper walked in directly—without knocking! Well, Raiden was used to it by now; this wasn't the first or second time.

"Raiden..." Pepper called hesitantly, as she had done countless times over the past few days. It seemed she had something to say to Raiden but always held back.

"Raiden, maybe you should go check on Tony. He's been acting very strange these past two days. He's locked himself in his lab again, refusing to see anyone," Pepper finally voiced her concern, her anxiety evident.

"But isn't that just how Tony is?" Raiden replied dismissively.

"This time it's different, really," Pepper insisted, looking at Raiden.

"Alright, I'll go take a look," Raiden nodded seriously.

...

In Queens, Yinsen was playing with Peter. Due to his age and some other reasons, Peter hadn't started school yet, but it wouldn't be long now.

Yinsen and May had discussed it and decided to send Peter to elementary school in the second half of the year.

"Beep, beep."

Yinsen phone buzzed with a text message. He opened it to see it was from Raiden.

"Come over for dinner tonight, Northern Manor—Raiden."

After reading the message, Yinsen put his phone back in his pocket and affectionately ruffled Peter hair.
