As they are still standing, the doorbell rings. Tanner walks over, opens the door, and steps inside carrying a bag. Without a word, he hands it to Kyle.
"They're clothes. Figured you'd need them," he says simply before heading back upstairs.
Inside the bag are pieces that match Kyle's usual style.. casual, comfortable, but tucked neatly among them is a black suit.
Kyle watches Tanner's retreating figure, baffled by how calm and unaffected he seems.
There's no mention of last night, of what they did, of what he now knows about Kyle's real family...nothing. Tanner acts like nothing happened, like everything is just as it was.
And Kyle, unwillingly, mirrors him. He pushes down the tight knot of discomfort in his chest and decides to pretends too.
He walks into the room he had spent the night in, closes the door behind him, and heads straight for the shower.
The water runs hot, trailing down his skin, but it doesn't rinse away the unease.
