Tanner gets into the car and speeds down the road, heading straight back to the pack house.
Even though Jess insists that Eryx is the most clueless person in this situation, Tanner cannot bring himself to believe that. There has to be something Eryx knows. It just doesn't add up.
It might not make any sense to say Eryx deliberately had a hand in making Tanner the father, but maybe, just maybe, he did something unknowingly that led to all of this.
There has to be a link somewhere, and Tanner is determined to find it. He's going to do whatever it takes to prove to Jess that he didn't try to manipulate him or play tricks.
He's not going to let Jess walk away again, not this time.
Even if it means putting himself in harm's way, he refuses to stop. Not when Jess is gone he feels dead inside.
