The very first thing I felt right after crossing that shimmering boundary between worlds was the cold... a pure, biting, fuckin' winter cold.
The temperature inside this place dropped quicker, and much lower, than a fat fuck's self-esteem.
That sudden chill was immediately accompanied by the echoing sound of a single water drop falling in what felt like a complete vacuum, and the incredibly uneven, treacherous, rocky ground beneath my shabby boots.
We were now clearly inside what I would probably assume to be some kind of large cave, as our entire column headed straight towards the only visible source of natural light ahead, which was weakly forcing its pale rays onto the rough, damp floor of these enclosed stone walls.
Stepping outside that cave first prompted me to instinctively raise my hand up, just to block the intense glare of the sun... though, to be honest, I'm not even sure if it is actually a sun up there.
