After the call with Vincent, Anita stared quietly at the pool, unable to utter a sound for a few moments.
Was she going to owe Lord Ravenswood again? Just… how the hell did Vincent offend Lord Ravenswood? Why would he mess with such a man?
Anita's composure was in place, but her inside was burning with panic. Just before she could get lost in her world, Zaria's phone rang.
She had been standing beside Anita but like a mannequin, she minded her business and pretended to be dead.
She answered the phone but didn't step away from Anita's parasol since it was Anita's call.
"It's Mr. Blackwood," Zaria announced but Anita didn't show interest.
Zaria answered the call and put it on speaker.
"My love," David's voice floated in the air, "This year, I'm going to handle our anniversary party. You just have to stay beautiful and relax like the queen you are."
Zaria blinked, her eyes darting to Anita. The woman had no reaction.
