Chapter 22 - Chapter: 22, Grandmaster Swordsmen

Chapter: 22, Grandmaster Swordsmen

The four High Goblins were chatting with each other, seemingly in a lively tone but their words were anything but lively.

"Go ahead Gura, that weakling must've died by now. How long can he even endure rat bites? We should quickly take his sacred object and head to the upper floors." One of the male goblins said to the only female one.

The Female goblin was wearing a thin t-shirt with a green brooch sticking to the cloth. Her skirt is short but long enough to cover more than her private parts. She had tied her hair and wore leather boots that were bigger than her feet, maybe she got it after killing an explorer.

The other male goblins were fawning over her as they also encouraged her

"Yeah Gura, let's go quickly. With our level 10 strength, we could absolutely destroy the monsters on the higher floors."

'Yeah, that's right." Another nodded.

The female goblin named Gura frowned upon hearing that. She warned them, "Don't forget what our leaders said. The monsters might get weaker but after we reach the 1st floor, even the clan leaders have a high chance of dying. We shouldn't get cocky."

Another male goblin shrugged at her words, "Oh, come on. You shouldn't be so tense. We all know that the power of monsters decreases the higher we climb. Just how strong could those so-called 'dangerous monsters' be?"

"Yeah, he's right. How strong could they even be? We can definitely crush them easily." Another one added.

Gura shook her head with helplessness. These fools don't understand that the tribe leaders won't lie to us because of the importance they give to the sacred relics they received from them. These were the sacred relics that all of their tribe worshipped.

Even if they didn't care about them, they would need to make sure these sacred relics are safe. As to why they abandoned the other guy from the pendant tribe? It was because that guy tried to force himself on Gura.

Nobody could tolerate him so they used him as bait to clear the path for the boss room. Since that guy has died they need to go and collect the relic from his corpse. If any of the relics go missing, the tribe would punish them heavily.

Gura got close to the dying rat and said, "Sigh, okay, okay, we'll go to the higher floors but let us first return to the tribe and hand over the relics…"

"Thud!"

The sudden sound made Gura look back in confusion, and what she saw horrified her. Giora, one of her companions, was standing headless as green blood sprayed out of the place where his head once was.

She could see his head on the ground. He was smiling as if he didn't even have the time to know what happened to him. Soon, his smiling face froze as color drained from his face. The ground was now littered with their green blood.

Gura was completely frozen with shock as she looked at the beheaded companion of hers. Her face that was helplessly sighing just now was completely scared now as the horrified expression slowly appeared on it.

"Wha…!"

"Thud!" another sound rang but this time it wasn't of any of their heads that fell on the ground. This time, the body of their second companion fell uncontrollably as he screamed in horror.

"Ahhhh Ahhhh!" The third male companion also let out a terrified scream. When Gura looked at him, she saw that his entire lower body was severed and his upper body, finding no support, fell to the ground with a heavy thud.

Gura shrank back in fear as her leg knocked over the dying rat's leg then she fell on its stomach. She cowered in fear, afraid if she was next. But nothing happened to her. She was safe in a corner as she looked at her companions dying miserably with pain she hardly could imagine.

With some more barely noticeable swish sounds, the two people lying on the ground also had their head cut apart from their neck. Gura thought she heard some footsteps coming towards her. She didn't want to take any chances as she tried to drag herself backwards.

"*#!$^%&$" Gura was almost one with the large rat as she heard an unfamiliar and completely foreign sound.

But after a few moments, another sound rang in her ears, this time in the language she understands, it said, "I guess I'll keep a guide."

Suddenly, the figure of a man appeared out of thin air. Gura was shocked, but more than that, she was terrified. What kind of being is it that it could turn invisible and visible anytime?

**

Dain was looking at the frightened girl in front of him. He sighed and reached out to take the brooch from her chest. Why would he care about decency when this girl is completely at his mercy?

As to how he is able to use a sword like that? He had became a Grandmaster in Swordsmanship in his previous life. It was also one of the trump card that showed his strength in the previous life.

The girl shrank back, trying to avoid his hand, but she couldn't as his firm hands held the brooch and pulled on it.

With the sacred relic gone, the power she borrowed from it was also dissipating as the sense of weakness loomed over her. Now, she was even more helpless against this mysterious and powerful monster.

She was waiting to meet the inevitable fate just like her companions, but it never came.

Dain finally understood the goblin language after he spent one percent of the skill charge to imagine himself knowing and speaking all languages fluently.

Taking the brooch, he finally had all five of the pieces from the [Goblin Kings Inheritance] Set.

[Goblin Kings Inheritance (5/5)] (A-rank)

After he equipped a pair of gloves, one pendant, one green ring and the brooch, he heard the system notification.

[You have completed a set: Goblin Kings Inheritance.]

[The Set Bonus Effect is activated: Goblins Instincts.]

Dain then looked at the bonus effect.

[Goblin's Instincts]

Description: "You will have an instinct for gold and shiny things."
