'Can I pet that dawg' — little girl saying it to a bear

SLAM
The statue of All Might he had kept next to hid bed was smashed as his eyes lit wide open. His breathe ragged. The intense feeling came back in his chest as it heaved up and down. He opened his window to get a breathe of fresh cool air to hit him, but the heat was still rising.
'What the hell..was that...?' he thought as he felt his face starting to cool down little by little.
He looked to the side as he gazed upon his new companion sleeping lightly in his bed. He shook his head and sighed as went over to Daisy and began petting her head, causing said little beige bundle of adorableness to wake up.
Daisy looked up to Izuku who looked a little ragged. What he didn't expect was for Daisy to hop onto his arm and travel all the way up to his shoulder and nuzzle into his face.
'You are one special bunny huh...' thought Izuku as he smiled albeit tired from the back pain of sleeping next to the side bed frame.
Don't get him wrong. He would sleep on the bed with Daisy. But nah.
Nah, it's much better for little Daisy to have her space.
He looked at his right hand. There was a little smoke coming off as a tint of violet had just vanished from his knuckles. Strange things are happening to him. He wasn't sure what. Maybe it was the family that's occupying the house? Maybe it's the fact he had no place in this world? Maybe it was something to do with his mark?
The more questions he had, the more answers he couldn't find. Then there was the lingering pain in the back of his head. He had long since began trusting this pain because whenever something vile happens to him in the future, the pain in his head would prominently increase. Almost as if like a warning signature.
So he got up and slipped on a set a of clothes. Once again, it was still a little chilly outside, but due to the intense warmth in his chest which he now started adapting to, he only put on a t-shirt and jet black cargos.
Daisy hopped back back onto his shoulder as he walked downstairs to see a peculiar sight. One which wouldn't really surprise him.
Sitting at the table, his parents and sister were setting up the table when they noticed Izuku had come down. Toshinori, who hadn't seen him in the last 24 hours had looked down in what Izuku deemed as regret and unfortunate shame. Izumi was shifting slightly as there was a very audible and uncomfortable silence.
Izumi and Inko both then noticed a small bunny perched on his shoulder, but didn't want to acknowledge it so as to not sour the mood further for him.
"I-Izuku we p-prepared breakfast...a-are you going to join us..?" his mother voiced out as Inko walked slowly to him with her hands in in front of her stomach, waiting patiently for her son's answer. She bit her lip inside because she knows she has done something unforgivable like neglecting her son.
Wouldn't it hurt to try and fix what little relationship they had left?
Izuku only stared at her mother as his gaze wavered over to the two behind her also patiently waiting. Only his dad wasn't looking straight to him and he could guess why.
'The fight...' he mentally rolled his eyes.
He walked past all of them as he went into the kitchen and took out a small bento he made last night that no one saw him make from the fridge as he went to the door, "Don't wait for me, I'm staying at a friend's house."
With that, the door shut, and he left.
Toshinori looked down even further in shame and pain. Izumi looked like she was going to tear up and Inko gripping her hand tightly as she bit her lip with tears freely flowing. No sound was made as the trio knew that the relationship between their son/brother was slowly breaking more and more.
No one wanted to acknowledge it.
"I-I just w-want to fix this..." Inko silently spoke with sobs mixed in between.
Izumi stood up from her seat and hugged her mother who although didn't hug back, did lean into her shoulder and silently cry. She was Viridian Storm. The number 7 hero. She made so many people smile along with her husband so why...
Why couldn't she do the same for her own son...?
Oh she knew why.
She wasn't there for him when he needed her the most.
And now...
Now...her little Izuku doesn't need them.
WITH IZUKU
"Announce me."
"No."
"Why not?"
"That sounds cringe."
"You're gay."
"No, you're stupid."
Izuku was currently sitting on a couch in Mary's home with Mary standing and facing her back towards him. You may be wondering what happened.
As Izuku had walked out from the house, he called Mary to see what she was doing and if she was free. Low and behold she was. He thought of inviting her, but that would be too much since she would have to travel again to Musutafu.
"How about I come around your place?" He voiced out on call.
"Huh? Oh. You know what sure, I'll text the address," Mary said as she texted the details of her house in Nagoya as well as the train times and all.
He made his way over which took little to more than an hour's journey and once he got settled in with Daisy still perched on his shoulder, Mary jumped onto the couch and patted the seat next to her.
"Where's your parents? Are they not around?" Izuku asked as he took in the relatively nice and comfy home environment.
"Oh, they're dead," she said as she was petting Daisy. Izuku double backed on what she said so casually and was about to apologise, but she put a finger on his lips stopping him from doing so.
"It's alright. It happened a long time ago, so I don't think about it," she smiled shrugging her shoulders before pulling her finger back and repeated petting Daisy, "I have a caretaker looking after me, but she's currently out right now."
Izuku looked at Mary. Someone like her who's beautiful, strong in her own ways and yet had no one looking after her. Sure, a caretaker was there, but this was her parents. He was sure they loved her because even after all these years she was able to cope with it.
She shouldn't and should honestly let it out if that was the case, but it wasn't his place to say.
"Well, now I'm wondering why did you come here? It's Sunday so most of the shops are closed and there isn't really much to do in Nagoya so..." she smiled mischievously.
"You came here to see me~" she teased.
POKE
Izuku pushed her back with a finger away from him, "Down girl..." he chuckled, "I just wanted to get away and this was the only place that I could think of coming to..."
"So me?" she teased again.
A vein popped up in Izuku's temple but he sighed and smiled helplessly, "You need to control yourself..."
She stuck her tongue out to him before getting up and turned her back to him, "Announce me."
And here we are back to the present.
"No."
"Why not?"
"That sounds cringe."
"You're gay."
"No, you're stupid."
A tick mark formed on Mary's head as she turned to Izuku and in quick succession, punched his arm, "I should kick you out then."
"Do it and I will take Daisy with me," Izuku countered back with a small smile.
That seemed to hit the mark as Mary's eyes widened in betrayal, "No! Don't take my little cutie away!" she rushed to gently pick up Daisy, who already seemed content in her arms.
Izuku shook his head with a smile but it slightly faltered as he finally decided to say his real reason for being here, "I-I was thinking...Mary...you should keep Daisy..."
Her eyes shot up as she looked up in concern to Izuku. She sat back down with Daisy in her arms, "She seems to be better with you though...did something happen...at home?"
Mary had a mild grasp as to how the quirkless were treated in Japan. Honestly, it disgusted her that people would openly hate on a group of individuals when they simply had no special or unique powers.
Izuku not wanting to tell her about anything shook his head quickly, "No, No nothing like that...just..it's something else."
Mary beckoned him to continue as he sighed rubbing the back of his head, "I-I've had...pains...in the back of my head.." he gestured towards the occipital region of his head, "It's weird to think, but...whenever something bad happens...I feel..or rather sense, a danger coming...from the back of my head."
She furrowed her small, thin eyebrows as she put her palm on the back of his head, massaging him. The gesture made him blush a little, but he looked away.
"Is it a quirk?" she asked but Izuku shook his head.
"I have a feeling it's not..." he looked up a little contemplating on whether he should say more but decided to as he wanted to get it out, "I also..well there's this thing in my chest...a warm, hot feeling..."
"Oi, Oi, you're not confessing to me are you?" she joked as she knows they were a great match for each other but it's only been a few days since they've met.
"N-No nothing like that...it's different." he muttered furrowing his eyebrows.
"A rage...a strong thundering and bursting raging heat that like...boils in my chest..." he worded his phrase carefully as Mary listened.
"Does it hurt?" she asked worried for him
"No...in fact, it helps me...like helps me a lot...but like...I don't know what will happen if I can't control it..."
Mary, who still had her hand on the back of his head slowly pulled her hand and landed it on his cheek softly, "You wouldn't be rageful around me right?"
"Nothing like that...it's just..I feel like if...something happens to someone I care about..." he slowly drifted his eyes to Mary and down at Daisy who was curled up in her lap and looking up to us, "...then...yeah..." he ended quietly as his words trailed.
"Angry?" she concluded nodding.
He reciprocated with a nod of his own.
She smiled and pinched his cheek softly, "Well, you've got me and Daisy to help you."
Daisy as if wanting to be seen as right, got up and ran into his lap. Izuku smiled and petted her as his hands glided over her soft brown fur.
TIMESKIP (...my bad)
A hours had gone by as he stayed over at Mary's home. They had talked about numerous things and countless arguments had erupted, but it was always resolved when they looked at each other as Mary would laugh and Izuku himself would chuckle. However one topic that had stuck out to him really caught his attention, especially after what she uttered yesterday too.
"Mary, you said something that I couldn't really stop thinking about," he said as Daisy was lying was hopping around the house finding hurdles and crevices to move through.
It was her own little playground.
"What's that?" she voiced out. Mary was currently upside down on the couch with her legs over the couch and her head touching the carpet. It was a nicely cleaned carpet so her hair was completely fine.
She hopes.
"About something more out there...like heaven...like hell.." Izuku spoke out too wanting to know her thoughts.
"You believe in that?"
She didn't answer right away. Instead, she reached into her t-shirt and pulled out a small chain. It was a cross. Old, scratched, like it had been clutched a thousand times too tightly.
"I didn't before. But after everything I've seen...heroes, villains, people I've lost..." she trailed a little, "There's gotta be something more. Otherwise…" she trailed off, fingers curling around the cross, "what would be the point?"
Izuku didn't respond. He felt her words settle in his chest, heavy and hot. Like something sacred and ugly at once. Heaven and Hell. Of all things.
Imagine if it were real. He'd dread to see it all.
"If it's real," she continued, quieter now, "imagine it. Fighting through every screaming horror Hell could throw at you...bashing the heads of all those demons and devils...just to make it to the gates of Heaven. Just to get in."
She turned to him for the first time, eyes burning like coals in the dark as she grinned.
"I'd do it. If that's what it took—I'd fight them all."
The pain in his head grew stronger.
He didn't answer as he looked at the time. It was already half an hour past 9pm. He sighed as he got up. Mary knew he had to go back home so she also got out of her weirdly comfortable position and stood up too.
"Want me to come and drop you off at the station?" she spoke quietly.
"It's alright...I can make my own way," he smiled as he turned back to Mary who looked a little down seeing him leave. He didn't say anything.
He only spoke through his actions as he gently pulled Mary into his embrace. Though startled by it, Mary inwardly smiled happily as she gladly hugged back placing her arms around his neck and nuzzled into his shoulder. Izuku, at a synchronized moment, wrapped both his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to him.
None of them spoke a word. They didn't need to.
Izuku pulled back and waved a good bye at her as he walked from away from her home. He sighed. He didn't want to burden Mary with wanting to stay at her place even though he said he would stay over at a friends.
'Damn it...' he shook his head.
It was getting quite late now.
He made his way to the front porch of the house. Checking his phone, it was already 11pm. He ws about to enter, but he heard a muffled yet clear conversation that he could make out.
'They're not in bed yet...?'
The discomfort grew even more stronger in his head as he listened through the door.
"Izumi, it's about time we tell you the truth," Toshinori spoke first with a firm voice.
'Truth...?' he furrowed his eyebrows.
"Yes sweetie, we're actually not office workers in All Might's agency..." Inko spoke up as the discomfort in Izuku grew wildly.
"Izumi..." Toshinori's weak yet firm voice trailed off, before it boasted loudly in a tone Izuku will never forget.
"I AM IN FACT ALL MIGHT!"
'No...'
"And I'm Viridian Storm!"
'Stop...'
"AND WE'RE THE NUMBER ONE AND NUMBER SEVEN HEROES!/And we're the number one and number seven heroes!" they finished.
Inko's voice sounded the same no doubt.
Toshinori...his father...his goddamn father and blood...was All Might? The voice was no different to the one he heard a few days back. The one that told him that even if he was quirkless...he couldn't be a hero.
'All Might...!'
'ALL MIGHT..!'
'ALL MIGHT!?'
His mind reeled. Biting his lip in anger and rage as his chest burned brightly. His breathe became ragged as he moved away from the hom—
No...it wasn't his home..It never was. He couldn't believe it. There was no way it was true and yet...
He heard it from them directly from their mouths.
What was it all for? The top heroes...were neglectful bastards?
'WHO IN THE HELL DO THEY THINK THEY ARE THAT THEY CALL THEMSELVES HEROES?!'
He didn't know where to go. He didn't know where his legs were taking him.
All he knew was that he was running. Away.
Away from the people who betrayed him. He didn't know what to think anymore.
The burning in his chest was getting hotter and hotter and faster and faster as his body was going into an overload of adrenaline. The blood moved faster as did he. The strides in his steps grew longer as he ran faster than before.
No one in the streets of Musutafu and Nagoya noticed a speeding blur except for speed cameras that flashed a bright light. Not that Izuku could've cared because he didn't stop.
All he could think of was...
'Mary...and Daisy...'
Before he knew it, he was at the front of her house and as if sensing the changes in the air, Daisy came rushing out of the house with Mary in tow as she looked shocked seeing him.
Daisy went up to him and nuzzled into his leg as he looked down. His body was still in overdrive, but he couldn't give a damn.
FWUSH
Just then, a spark of orange, hit the air beside them.
A crack formed.
The crack grew bigger and bigger.
And the—
SWISH
A red ball blurred past Izuku. What was that?
A hot gust followed in its wake, and then—
"Gkh—!"
A choked gasp behind him.
Izuku's heart skipped a beat.
He turned. Slowly. Too slowly.
"Izuku…"
The voice was barely a whisper. Barely human.
Mary stood there, hand clutched against her middle, eyes wide with disbelief.
And then he saw it.
A hole, punched clean through her gut. Not burned, not torn...cored, like a red-hot drill had driven through flesh and bone and left nothing but meat and smoke behind.
His breath caught. His mind short-circuited, blanketing itself in instinctual denial.
'No.'
'No. No. No...'
Mary staggered back two steps, as if the weight of her body had suddenly become too much to carry. Her knees buckled and she was about to fall to the floor, if not for Izuku who rushed to her and caught her in his arms.
"Mary! Mary!? hey—hey, stay with me, okay? Look at me! Just—!"
Her eyes fluttered. Her mouth moved, but nothing came out. Her fingers twitched, slick with blood.
He could hear her breathing...it was shallow. Blood was slowly pouring out.
"Pft—y-you i-idiot...w-why are you c-crying...?" she uttered out with what little strength she had left.
Mary was slipping.
"No, no, stay with me—don't you dare close your eyes, Mary. Don't do that to me...!" his breathe was ragged.
Her eyes—half-lidded, glazed with pain—drifted upward toward the stars. Or maybe past them. She didn't seem afraid.
She just seemed…sad. Peaceful in the way people get when they've accepted something...sweet. Like the battle was over...yet she didn't even get to fight.
She was finally going to see her parents.
"H-Hey I-Izuku..." she croaked out.
"Mary don't talk! I-I'll get hel—"
"I-I'm gunna k-kill those d-demons...a-and get t-to Hea-ven..."
Izuku froze.
A sob built up in his chest, heavy and vicious, but he swallowed it like poison.
"T-Take care of D-Daisy...t-the little cutey...heh..."
"No. You can't ask me to do that. You're gonna take care of her with me, you hear me!? You're gonna be fine— we can—"
Her body sagged in his arms, the last breath escaping from between her lips like a fading ember. Her head lolled gently to the side.
Still smiling.
Still warm.
There was no sound.
Not the wind.
Not the hum of the still-open portal.
Not even the quiet rasp of his own breath as the world caved in around him.
Izuku stared at her face, unmoving. His hands still gripped her like if he just held on tightly enough, she'd come back. That her soul would feel it and turn around.
It did not.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH?!!"
His voice had broken the sound barrier as it filled the entirety of Japan. The cries of a man had broken through into the minds of everyone. No matter what corner you were found in. No matter which crevice you hid in.
They would've heard it.
Parents clutched their children. Heroes stopped in the middle of battles, as well as villains who instinctively turned to the direction of the cry.
His body trembled. His shoulders hunched over Mary's still form.
However something different arose.
'#IP AN# TE#R..!'
'RIP AND TE#R.!'
'RIP AND TEAR!'
He turned.
The portal that was still burning beside him, flickered violently. And then...
A red skin like hand popped out.
A hunched and twitching creature.
It possessed an elongated back spine and pupiled orange eyes. Charred, red skin.
It snarled, saliva and heat dripping from its twisted mouth, claws twitching in anticipatio—
CRASH
He roared as he slammed into the creature and unknowingly in his rage, went through the portal. Not that he cared. He didn't even notice the beige coloured animal that followed him into the portal.
He didn't hesitate.
He didn't think.
He didn't speak.
Everything in their surroundings turned black as they felt they were falling but, he did not care as he punched into the creature smashing it's head in as blood sprayed all over him.
Be damned with blood. He will bathe in that creatures blood.
What no one knew in that place was that...
...They had no idea what it had just let in.

TWITCH

.
As Izuku vanished into the portal, he didn't see a twitching finger, a faint spark of bio-electrical current of energy flickering through her hand like a dying ember refusing to fade.
