Once the drama had died down and the front door clicked shut behind Nina and the hunter, the servers inside the café slowly turned their attention toward Rose.
The tension was still thick in the air.
"Hey. What was your problem back there?"
One of them finally said, voice tight.
Rose, standing near the counter with her arms crossed, raised an eyebrow at the speaker.
"Excuse me?"
"You just stood there. She was about to get hurt because of you! That man was going to hurt her!"
Another server snapped.
Rose clicked her teeth and gave a long sigh.
"And what exactly did you all expect me to do? Throw myself at a hunter and beg him to take me instead? Just because some drunk fool made a demand, I should follow through?"
She asked, sharp and cold.
The staff exchanged uncertain looks.
