The drunk hunter staggered toward the café door, his steps clumsy and uneven. He squinted at the sign and tried to pull it open, only to realize it was locked.
Annoyance flickered across his face. He rattled the handle again, more forcefully this time.
When it didn't budge, his expression darkened.
With a grunt of frustration, he drew mana from within, his drunken aura turning aggressive. He shoved his hand forward.
A small burst of mana exploded outward, blasting the café door open with a loud crack. The noise echoed through the quiet night and inside the café.
The staff inside, still cleaning up after closing, flinched at the sound.
One of the younger part-timers let out a startled yelp as the door slammed open. A gust of cold air followed the drunken intruder inside.
His unsteady eyes scanned the room until they landed on her—Rose.
For a moment, he froze. Then, with a lopsided grin, he pointed at her.
