**Aholah's POV**
"Holy Fire fall upon my altar…"
I walked into the chapel through the back door, breaking another record in the same week. I was thirty minutes late for evening service at the school's chapel. The atmosphere seemed to already have been charged as the song "holy Fire fall upon our altar is being sung ". People were connected already, some already manifesting in tongues, some on their knees seeking for this fire, some in tears, hands lifted. Everyone had something they were doing to contribute to this fire. I just could not connect. I juggled amidst the crowd to locate my chapel seat which was in the front row of the auditorium, munching the words of the song in my mouth. Something is not right.
Nothing has been right since the beginning of this week. My prayer times have become so boring, even the chapel that I always loved to attend has become a threat to my life. There's just always this weakness, sometimes a headache that comes upon me whenever it was time for chapel, and with Khadijah's new revelations I could not help but conclude that my depressive state had become a spiritual problem. More reasons why I need a chapel.
"Why is everything suddenly against me?!"
I muttered as I dropped my bag on my seat to face the altar. The personality of the preacher shocked me.
Arabella? No. Arabella. The same Arabella who watched pornography with us when we were in Tolani's. She was much older and a final year student, and all she did that day was urge us on and even join in the conversation. How can she be bringing down this much fire? God! Arabella! She looked around, at all those who had caught fire around her. Does this mean there's really nothing wrong in this messy and sneaky habit of mine? Then why do I feel so wrong? Arabella is bringing down fire.
"Yes, Revival is here. Lord, we require your revival fire. Our generation requires your revival. Our generation needs your revival." She screamed as she resumed back into her tongues. Oholah could not help but join in the prayers for revival.
"God, I really don't know what to say right now. I'm sorry. I know I'm doing the wrong thing. I swear, I know. But it's hard and look at Arabella, you're using her. Why? She is not a saint! You know…"
"There is somebody here. The Lord says your revival is near. Focus. You need to focus. Everybody in this hall, close your eyes! And fix your gaze on Jesus. No negotiation. Today is the day of your revival. Close your eyes as we sing this song."
"Holy Spirit, be my comforter…" Everyone took the song again and different blast of tongues filled the hall, the tempo kept rising ad rising!
I wailed. "No… God. NO… Revival. Revive me"
Scene lashed through my memory again, and I blocked my ears in frustration and fell on my knees in tears. "No, God please, NO…"
The revival hour went on for the next minute, and all I could do was cry. The student Chaplain then mounted the pulpit and everyone quieted down.
"Amen. " He began. " Quickly because of our time I want us to run this little word of exhortation before we go back to our hostels tonight. And I pray that this word would bless someone's life here tonight in Jesus Name."
"Amen." They echoed.
"In the next one minute, let's bow down our heads ad ask God to speak to us by himself. Tell God to open your understanding to His words tonight. Tell him to give you a message… In Jesus might name we have prayed."
"Amen."
"Thank God she didn't stab today." My seat partner Daisy nudged me at the side.
"Who wants to become SDC candidate?"
"Awwwn, look who fears facing panel." She joked.
"Be playing." I hissed and moved my attention back to the preacher.
"I want us to discuss the role of your spiritual life in your life status. " She said. "THE ROLE OF YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE IN YOUR LIFE STATUS."
"Your life status here mean whoever you are, whatever you are and wherever you are. And by spiritual life, I mean your relationship with Jesus. Your relationship with your God."
"Now everyone should jot this down. Your number one identity and goal as a believer is to be a light bearer, according to Matthew chapter 5 verse 14-16. The bible says you are the light of the world. Now let us ask ourselves. As a believer, am I shining my light? Yes, I can speak in tongues. Yes, I can call down fire from heaven. Yes I can bind and cast out what about the light? The light of God in us? Can the world see us and see Jesus in us? Can the world see us and want to be like Jesus? Can the lost see you and wish to be saved?" She paused." I put this question to us today: Are you really a light in this school? Please ask yourself, are you a light bearer? Does your life reflect the Jesus that you claim to believe in ?"
Silence.
"For those of us that have lost our light, I pray that the Lord restores His light in you by His mercy in Jesus name."
"Amen"We echoed.
"We would stop here today, but I want us to go back to our beds tonight and think of these things deeply. Remember, God has created us to shine His light. Check yourself, do I still have this light in me? Have I been carried away by the struggles in school and have forgotten that I am meant to be a light?'' He paused. " We are going to pray this praying point and go because of our time, so we can go and rest.'
"Say; Oh lord my father, make me a light bearer! In the name of Jesus"
