Chapter 74 - Chapter 73: Eternal Tower of the Undead

After hearing Huo Yuhao's explanation, Xue Di remained silent for a long while, her eyes filled with awe as she gazed at this seemingly otherworldly paradise.

She could clearly sense that the laws of this world were extremely incomplete. The elemental energy of heaven and earth was pitifully thin—training here was clearly out of the question.

But the rich vitality from the "Sun of Life" in the sky left Xue Di both stunned and enchanted. Any living being from the mundane world who bathed in this sunlight could probably extend their lifespan just from basking in its glow.

'This human… claims he can control the Power of Creation. That's a domain that belongs to the gods.'

Indeed, even if an ordinary person possessed both Destruction and Life, they could never truly control that legendary Power of Creation.

But Huo Yuhao, as the chosen of the Douluo Continent, was no ordinary person. If there was one person in the world who could truly wield the Power of Creation, it could only be Huo Yuhao.

His displayed talent had far exceeded her expectations. Xue Di looked at him with a complex expression.

"I now believe that even if I didn't know the outcome of your past life, I would still think that your ascension to godhood is just a matter of time. That being the case, I can finally stop worrying for Bing'er. I, Xue Di, Sovereign of the Extreme North, swear to stand behind you with all my strength, Yuhao."

Huo Yuhao broke into a bright smile.

"Thank you, Xue Di."

Xue Di nodded and turned, walking toward Bing'er who had been waiting for her at the seashore to catch up.

Huo Yuhao glanced with amusement at the lonely-looking big silkworm lying on the white sand under the sun, then shifted his gaze toward the distant, faintly visible seven-story white tower—the Eternal Tower.

Back when he fused with the mutated Spirit Gold influenced by the Gods of Destruction and Life, his body had gained the true essences of Destruction and Life. The vitality energy within his Life Source far surpassed even Spirit Gold, and thanks to that, Electrolux's soul fragment recovered far faster than Huo Yuhao had expected.

In a short time, Electrolux regained significant strength—while still far from a tenth of his former power, it was enough to stay awake long-term and begin imparting the powers of necromancy to Huo Yuhao.

This "Eternal Tower" was not the same divine-tier artifact that Electrolux had once gifted to another world's protagonist. Instead, it was a new version, forged purely from necromantic power and built from memory—a prototype.

These days, Electrolux hadn't been teaching Yuhao necromantic spells. He was focused entirely on completing this tower.

Once completed, this version wouldn't rival the original artifact that fused light, death, and necromantic energy, but it would still be a pseudo-divine necromancer's tower.

Its greatest ability would be storing souls—eternally nourishing them and preserving them. Even if Huo Yuhao's body was destroyed one day, as long as a wisp of soul remained, it could be nourished within this tower, reformed into a true soul, and one day reborn with a body.

The number of souls it could hold? As the name "Eternal" implied—unlimited. Though it did require care to avoid soul conflicts within.

Connected to the half-plane of the Undead, this tower would also serve as a necromancer's fortress, capable of projection into the real world as a formidable bastion of offense and defense.

Moreover, this spiritual world was entirely Huo Yuhao's creation. The Eternal Tower was born from this world, meaning when projected into reality, it could become a medium through which Yuhao wielded the Power of Creation.

'After all, using the Power of Creation directly in the Douluo Continent, where the world's laws are extremely complete, is very demanding… but if I use something born of my own world—this tower—it becomes much easier.'

In short, this tower held boundless potential. When Electrolux suggested prioritizing its completion, temporarily suspending necromancy training, Huo Yuhao didn't object at all.

After casting one last expectant glance at the Eternal Tower, Huo Yuhao turned away. It was time to return to the real world—he didn't know how the battle between Mingde Hall and the Body Sect was going.

Right now, Mingde Hall was inseparably linked to Huo Yuhao's future. He had many research challenges that needed the Hall's support, and many of the diligent researchers reminded him of his past life. He had deep feelings for this institute. He wouldn't let the Body Sect get away with this easily.

Back in the real world, Huo Yuhao's eyes snapped open, flashing with a sharp glint. He raced down the underground tunnel toward Mingde Hall's central control room.

Upon arrival, he saw Xuan Ziwen staring tensely at the monitor, which was displaying internal battle scenes.

"Teacher Xuan, what's the situation now?"

Startled by the voice, Xuan Ziwen turned around.

"Yuhao? Why are you here?"

"I couldn't relax just sitting somewhere safe by myself."

Xuan Ziwen sighed.

"Right now, Hall Master Hongchen is still tangling with that 98th-level Du Busi from the Body Sect. Thankfully, aside from those two, the fighting has ceased. Otherwise, the casualties would be unimaginable."

Huo Yuhao turned to the screen, where Jing Hongchen and Du Busi were locked in high-speed battle.

"Teacher…"

He murmured with concern. After all, Du Busi was a peak 98th-level Super Douluo. Jing Hongchen couldn't possibly hold out against him forever.

Fortunately, Du Busi was clearly trying to buy time for the Snow Empress embryo and hadn't gone all out.

But as the delay stretched, Du Busi grew increasingly agitated. His strikes grew fiercer, and Jing Hongchen was beginning to fall behind.

'If this continues, Du Busi might get desperate and either seriously injure or kill Teacher, then make a direct dash for the embryo.'

"There's so much commotion. Hasn't Mingdu sent any reinforcements?"

Huo Yuhao asked.

"They're on the way. We got word from the royal family—apparently, most of the elders from the Worship Hall are away, so a response will take time."

Huo Yuhao frowned. 'Even if Kong Deming is in seclusion, how could there not be a single Titled Douluo stationed in the capital?'

Only two possibilities. One: they learned a 98th-level Super Douluo was involved and were stalling out of fear. Two: someone was interfering behind the scenes, deliberately delaying reinforcements.

Huo Yuhao sighed. 'Most likely… the Holy Spirit Church.'

He vaguely remembered that Xu Tiannan had a close connection with a mysterious "Imperial Advisor" of the Holy Spirit Church. If that's true, then it wasn't far-fetched that the Church's power had infiltrated Mingdu's administration, even the royal family.

And the only force capable of dispatching Titled Douluo from the capital was the royal family.

If the Holy Spirit Church was influencing key links in the command chain, it wouldn't be hard to create delays in reinforcement deployment.

'But even a single second of delay could put Teacher in extreme danger…'
