She had just woken up, her voice carrying a hint of laziness, and perhaps from the pain of the bump, her eyes were slightly red.
Crystal Foster looked up at Martin Riley. "You've been coming home late recently. Is work keeping you busy?"
Her eyes were dreamy, clearly too sleepy to keep them open, and her jawline was particularly striking under the light.
"Yeah, it's been pretty hectic. Did you need me for something?" Martin's voice was deep and smooth, like a cello melody.
Crystal suddenly remembered she needed to explain something to Martin. How did she almost fall asleep waiting?
"I wanted to explain about meeting Marvin Mitchell today. I was just trying to ask about Uncle Robert's situation since he's out of the hospital now. I didn't want to bother him at home."
After speaking, Crystal nervously bit her lip, watching Martin closely to gauge his reaction.
Martin raised an eyebrow, instantly guessing who had informed him.
"Seems like Henry's been a bit loose-lipped."
