Crystal Foster took a deep breath, looking at Mr. Harrington with a serious expression, her smile completely gone.
"How dare you say such things? Yes, you're Martin Riley's father, but he owes you nothing. You schemed against him and now you have the nerve to gloat about it. You don't deserve to be a parent!"
Mr. Harrington was clearly taken aback by Crystal's sudden defense of Martin. He was at a loss for words, his face turning red with anger.
"Martin is kind and still holds onto the little bit of father-son bond you have, so he won't say anything. But I will. I know it's impossible to expect you to treat Martin better in the future, but let me tell you this: whatever you do to Martin, I'll make sure Hyland Riley pays for it double. If you don't believe me, go ahead and try!"
Mr. Harrington snapped back to reality, slamming his hand on the table and pointing a finger at Crystal, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
