AYASHA'S POV
She turned and walked away before I could ask anything else, leaving me standing alone in the corridor. I listened for a moment, hearing only the distant sounds of the palace going about its business. Footsteps and voices and the clatter of dishes from somewhere far below.
I opened the door and stepped inside.
The first thing I noticed was the heat. The air was warm and humid, scented with oils I couldn't identify. The second thing I noticed was the sound of water.
And then I saw him.
Koda was in a bath, a large marble tub that looked like it had been carved from a single piece of stone. Steam rose from the water, and he was leaning back against the edge with his eyes closed, completely relaxed.
Completely naked.
Heat flooded my face so fast I felt dizzy. I spun around, putting my back to him and staring at the closed door like it might offer some escape from this situation.
"What the hell? I am a lady," I said, my voice coming out higher than I intended.
