Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 Professor McGonagall's Extra Homework

  Ron regretted it.

Although the other students continued to practice Transfiguration with normal expressions, his heart was still in a mess because of the inappropriate remarks just now.

Surpass Damon? Merlin's beard! How did his brain make him say such a thing? There was a full fourth-year Slytherin difference between him and Damon!

Even if Damon did nothing from now on, it would take him at least four years to catch up with the other's duel level.

Fortunately, what made Ron feel better was that Damon did not feel any unpleasant emotions because of his inappropriate remarks.

In fact, for Damon, this matter was really insignificant.

After all, Ron's personality was like this.

Sometimes very normal things would become a little bad when he said them.

Because of his family background, this buddy's personality was a little sensitive and twisted-he always habitually avoided his own embarrassment by belittling others.

It is difficult for people to frankly accept their own shortcomings at the first time, and as an ordinary person with only courage, Ron is no exception.

He could sacrifice himself for the greater good in the test at the end of the first semester, and he could also complain to Harry endlessly under the influence of the Horcrux because of his long and fruitless efforts.

He could get angry because of Hermione's advice, and he would secretly bury his admiration for Hermione in his heart.

However, in his relationship with Damon, Ron has not yet exposed this problem, or he will never expose it.

For such a person, you can't suppress him if you are only a little better than him.

However, if you completely crush him in many aspects with an inhuman attitude, then he will instead blame everything on his own fault.

Like now, Damon just ignored the second half of his question and glanced at him lightly, and Ron sincerely felt that he had said the wrong thing.

A little further away from them, Hermione also noticed the movement here, but she just snorted lightly, turned her head and continued to struggle with her own matches.

By the time the class was over, Ron and Neville had transformed the matches in front of them into a little silver, but it was still a long way from becoming a silver needle.

Even so, this was already a very good result - apart from their group, only Hermione in the whole classroom successfully turned the match into silver, and the tip was slightly sharp.

And Harry, under Damon's guidance, successfully turned into a needle. Even if it was not so perfect, everyone could be sure that it was indeed a silver needle.

From the satisfied expression on Professor McGonagall's face, it can be seen that they did quite well.

  Professor McGonagall even praised directly:

"Even among all the students I have taught, you are one of the better ones."

This evaluation made all the little wizards blush and extremely excited.

But while Hermione was happy, she gradually restrained her smile when she thought of the perfect silver needle that Damon had turned into before.

When the class was over, Hermione took the lead to leave the classroom.

Harry looked at her leaving back, with a little regret on his face. They clearly had a "great friendship" on the train, why did Hermione always have to compete with Damon?

Ron was quietly complaining about Professor McGonagall's outrageous behavior - she assigned a 2-foot-long Transfiguration essay, which was longer than the assignments of the two professors combined.

But he was only halfway through his speech when he couldn't continue - Professor McGonagall had already come to Damon.

Harry and the others also realized that the scene in the Charms class was about to happen again.

"Do you have time? Damon, I want to talk to you."

  "Of course, professor."

Damon said goodbye to his roommate and went all the way to her office with Professor McGonagall.

This is a small study room located on the second floor corridor. There is a burning fireplace in it. The Quidditch field can be seen from the window. A hidden door leads to a bedroom with gravel floor.

After the two sat down, Professor McGonagall took out biscuits to entertain him and gave him a cup of lemon black tea.

Watching Damon eat biscuits with his hands without touching them using the levitation spell, Professor McGonagall felt that his thoughts were a little stopped - is this a new way of eating tea?

After a pause, she carefully considered her words and said,

"Damon, from the first time I saw you, I knew you had a certain talent for Transfiguration.

I think it would be a great loss if this talent was not fully developed just because it was not properly guided."

"If you are willing, I would like to assign you extra Transfiguration homework after each class to help you learn Transfiguration better.

After all, if you are taught the same way as other little wizards, I am afraid that most of the courses will be a waste of time for you. I don't know, what do you think?"

Professor McGonagall carefully observed Damon's expression. She made up her mind that as long as Damon had the slightest resistance, she would immediately propose another backup plan - give him privileges so that he would not have to complete the same Transfiguration homework as other students.

"Of course I am willing, Professor McGonagall."

Almost the moment Professor McGonagall finished speaking, Damon gave her a positive reply, which made her feel much better - he was indeed a child she was optimistic about, and he would not let her down.

"However, I would like to ask you to help me solve a small problem, Professor."

"Go ahead." McGonagall adjusted her glasses, her attitude serious, as if she would try her best to meet any small request made by Damon.

But the reason for this attitude is that she believes that Damon is a sensible person - he will never make a request that makes her embarrassed.

The facts are indeed as Professor McGonagall imagined.

"I want to subscribe to the daily newspaper "Transfiguration Today", but I can't find a way to subscribe to it."

Hearing Damon's request, Professor McGonagall showed obvious joy on her face.

"It's only been a week since the start of school, and you have already learned about the daily newspaper Transfiguration? Did you see it in the library?"

The last trace of worry in McGonagall's heart disappeared.

It seems that even without her invitation, Damon will continue on the road of Transfiguration - doesn't this prove the correctness of her invitation?

"It's normal that you can't find a subscription channel, because this is an academic journal that focuses on the latest developments in the field of Transfiguration.

The content published on it is too profound for young wizards in the lower grades. Because of this, and in order to avoid being harassed by some useless information, this daily newspaper is only for those who have achieved certain achievements or talents in Transfiguration.

For adult wizards, this is not a secret. You only need to have their subscription address and send an owl to send a letter. From now on, you can continue to subscribe."

Professor McGonagall handed the note with the address to Damon, "Continuing with the previous topic, since you have accepted my proposal, I will assign you extra homework from today."

"I'll say it in advance. Since you are going to do it, you must execute it in place. If I find that your attitude is not correct or you cannot complete my course requirements, then I will decisively stop this kind of teaching and never continue."

"Okay, Professor McGonagall." Damon agreed solemnly.

Although he now has Professor Flitwick's extra homework, it is still within his tolerance when combined with Transfiguration. He believes he can handle it

.

As for whether there will be more in the future, we will tell you after there are more.
