Two days after the incident...
The world outside had returned to something like peace. The sky no longer cracked with divine light or shadow. Just clouds. Just time.
My friends had gone home each of them holding onto a different piece of the chaos. Sara, Lily, James, Harry... they needed family right now. Needed warmth. I let them go.
Sefe was still asleep. Peacefully.
I made sure of it.
I watched her for a moment longer before closing the door to the quiet room. Slimy rested beside her bed like a silent guardian.
Then, I walked into the private chamber... where he waited.
Solarius.
Not the glowing, heroic god we all knew on the battlefield. Just the man underneath. Blue spandex. Yellow cape. Sitting calmly, but his eyes... they burned with restrained emotion.
He looked at me. No pretense. No grandeur.
"Someone almost died, Tyler…"
I didn't flinch.
