Kyan was pacing the huge room in bare feet, still grumbling under his breath.
"This place smells like money and bad decisions," he muttered.
He froze when he turned around—and the shirtless man was suddenly standing way too close.
Kyan stumbled back a step. "D-Don't sneak up on people like that!"
The man didn't reply. Just took a slow step forward. Then another.
Kyan's back hit the wall again.
"Look," Kyan said, palms up like he was trying to reason with a wild animal, "I don't know what kind of Fifty Shades fantasy this is, but I'm not the type."
The man didn't stop. His fingers reached out and tucked a strand of Kyan's messy hair behind his ear, lingering just a little too long.
"You keep saying that," he said softly, "but your body says different."
Kyan's face went red. "My body's just confused!"
The man chuckled low in his throat. "You're cute when you panic."
