## Chapter 50: Opening the Box

The 3 Fallen who were lucky enough to survive stood there dumbfounded. After a while, they screamed in panic and scattered, running away. Geez, Fallen are indeed timid in the Game, scattering at the slightest scare, but this was the first time I'd seen Fallen run away here, and I couldn't help but be momentarily stunned.

Although the Fallen's intelligence is low, the lower the intelligence of a Monster, the stronger its Instinct. Even when I'm in Werewolf Transformation, they wouldn't fear me, but facing Magic that could instantly kill a large group of their kind, they retreated in fear In Front of absolute Strength/Power.

After being stunned for a moment, the 3 Fallen had already fled far away. I shook my head and didn't chase after them. Not to mention the low Experience, they had already run very far. Even if I were to use Werewolf Transformation now, I might not be able to catch up.

Coming back to my senses, I looked over at the Poison Creeper. It had just finished off the 2 Fallen Shamans. Haha, this was the first time I had surpassed the Poison Creeper in both quantity and Speed! Before I learned Firestorm, it had always been "overshadowing the master".

With Firestorm, my Trial Speed significantly increased. For Fallen Camps that I usually had to be cautious about, I could first cast a Firestorm to burn down most of them, then use Werewolf Transformation, and the rest were a piece of cake. Along the way, everywhere I went, except for those Fallen Camps with hundreds of them, all others were wiped out by me. I didn't even forget to smash the Large Pot inside the Camp; perhaps it was stained with the Blood of the people of Sanctuary.

What's worth mentioning here is a House I encountered yesterday. It was probably temporarily built by some Adventurer. The stone Wall on it was mottled with moss, indicating its considerable age. This House was occupied by a large group of over a hundred Fallen, and there was also an Elite Level Fallen Shaman inside.

Normally, I would never provoke them, but tempted by the Elite Monster, and with the cover of the House, I first used Werewolf Transformation. Relying on Speed, I lured out the Fallen and the Elite Level Fallen Shaman inside the House. Then, I circled around and entered the House, which was now empty of Monsters. Guarding the Door, I waited for the pursuing Fallen to come and die. With the cover of the Door, just like in the Evil Cave, I used the Advantage of the narrow Terrain to wear down the Enemies one by one. Moreover, compared to the Evil Cave, I had already learned Firestorm. Standing at the Door and casting it, one-fifth of the Fallen immediately turned into Ashes, without even a Chance to be Resurrected by the Sorceress.

What, Fallen can break through Walls? The Chance is very small. With their intelligence, it's difficult for them to do something that destroys their own Cave. Even if they did, I could just run away. If they can break Walls, can't I?

The only Elite Level Fallen Shaman that posed a threat to me was naturally entangled by my Poison Creeper halfway. As for the other ordinary Fallen Shamans, the Fire Balls hitting me were neither painful nor itchy.

Before long, when I canceled my Shapeshifting and immediately cast another Firestorm, the last few Fallen also turned into Ashes. In Fact, when I first used Firestorm, nearly one-tenth of the Fallen had already fled.

Not far away, the battle between the Poison Creeper and the Elite Level Fallen Shaman was also nearing its end. As long as its Special Attribute wasn't Poison Resistance, the Elite Level Fallen Shaman was no match for the Poison Creeper at all.

"Ah..."

With a scream from the Elite Level Fallen Shaman, this unfair battle finally ended. I had already cleaned up my side of the Battlefield. Fallen are generally poorer. After killing dozens of them, I only dropped a few Gold Coins and a few Potions.

When I arrived at the feet of the Elite Level Fallen, my eyes immediately welled up with tears of emotion. What dropped there was precisely a piece of Leather clothes.

I finally said goodbye to the era of going naked! I was so excited I could barely speak. If the Poison Creeper wasn't so disgusting, I would have even wanted to kiss it a few times.

Superior Leather Armor: 17 Defense; Durability 25-25; Required Strength 15. +% Enhanced Defense.

Alas, it's just a White Item, I sighed, feeling a bit greedy. But then I immediately became happy again. Clothes are clothes, and the Defense it added was exactly the same as the total Defense of all my Equipment combined. (Originally, 8 points of the 25 Defense were added due to Level Up.)

Although I wanted to say that this one piece of Leather Armor was enough, this Elite Level Sorceress was still very generous and dropped a Small Life Recovery Potion. It was Small, restoring 10 Life per minute, not the lowest level Minor one.

Finally, there were the same old few Gold Coins.

Besides that, I actually found a small, square Iron Chest inside the House. It was grayish-brown, about knee-high, and not locked. I held my breath and walked up to it.

These Monsters, among different Races, and even within the same Race but different groups, will kill each other. Many Monsters enhance their Strength/Power through this kind of killing. Although many Monsters have low intelligence, they also have a hobby of collecting Treasure. Most groups don't have boxes for collecting Treasure, but once they do, the richness of the "Treasure" inside this box, to some extent, represents the Strength/Power of this group.

I believe most Game fans understand the excitement of Opening the Box. The temptation of the unknown, the rich rewards, and the satisfaction of extra gains all make countless people feel Admiration and longing. (In Fact, the boxes in the Diablo Game are too common, and many contain Junk, so this excitement has gradually been lost.)

Gently opening the slightly worn box, dozens of Gold Coins, 5 Slightly Red Potions, 1 Slightly Blue Potion, and most importantly, a Short Sword emitting a light blue glow, lay quietly inside the box.

OMG, my luck exploded this time! Since there's an Unidentified Short Sword, generally speaking, the Drop Rate from Monsters killing each other is very low. So, this tribe that I just killed most likely eliminated other tribes that had Elite Level Monsters before, possibly even more than one, which is why this Short Sword dropped. It's very likely that they had just destroyed another large tribe not long ago, and their own Strength/Power hadn't recovered yet, which is why I was able to get a bargain.

I gently picked up this blue Short Sword, stroking its cool blade carefully. I impatiently slapped an Identify Scroll onto it.

Artisan's Short Sword: One-Hand Damage: 2-8; Durability 24-24; Sword Class: Fast Attack Speed.

Additional Attribute: +1 Maximum Damage.

"Uh..."

Seeing this identified Short Sword, my first reaction was that I ultimately didn't have the Talent to be a wish-fulfillment hero...
