Renz was completely bewildered.

When he saw a long line of people neatly queued outside his restaurant, he wondered if he'd gone the wrong way. A quick check confirmed he hadn't. It just didn't make any sense.

He wasn't some famous chef; he was just a newly recognized chef who'd received a 4A rating from a God's Tongue judge. Given his standing, it was illogical for food enthusiasts nearby to endure over an hour's wait outside his restaurant, unwilling to leave. There had to be some unusual reason for this.

Then, Renz spotted a familiar face in the crowd: his father-in-law, Azami Nakiri. Azami stood there, gazing at Renz with an expression that was hard to decipher—perhaps a mix of melancholy and something else. When he finally saw Renz, a 'smile' appeared on his face.

Of course, Renz, who'd never seen eye-to-eye with his father-in-law, immediately recognized it as a 'fake smile.'

Heh.

Renz had first met Azami when Erina was giving birth to their third child. At that time, Renz had poured his heart and soul into caring for Erina, but the haughty woman still showed signs of postpartum depression. Her emotions were all over the place, especially since their situation was rather unique: Erina had given birth to their third child, Mirai Nakiri, as a virgin.

Erina felt that Renz was only caring for her because of the baby, completely ignoring her needs. This led to the "Jealousy Queen" becoming jealous of her own third child.

His father-in-law's visit only made Erina's emotional state worse. She seemed to deeply dislike and fear her father. However, when Renz tried to research it, he found no relevant information, only that Azami had once intensely trained Erina's God's Tongue for unknown reasons.

Later, after Renz's meticulous care helped Erina overcome her postpartum depression, he asked her about Azami. Erina, however, clammed up, refusing to discuss it, only saying she would "solve it." In reality, Erina's solution was to avoid him entirely, minimizing any direct contact with Azami. At that time, Renz was still an outsider.

Since Erina wouldn't talk, Renz couldn't resolve the issue. He only knew it was a long-standing emotional knot for Erina. The more time he spent with Erina, the more Renz realized that the seemingly impressive title and ability of "God's Tongue" came with many difficult side effects. Azami's method of training the God's Tongue had undoubtedly pushed a young Erina into a miserable situation.

This left Renz with a consistently poor impression of his father-in-law. Yesterday, when Azami proactively tried to add him on LINE, likely to win him over, Renz, understanding the situation, deliberately ignored him. It was a way to vent his frustration.

"Hello, are you interested in discussing a collaboration?" Azami asked, stepping forward.

Renz feigned a puzzled look. "Would you like a bowl of ramen? Okay, I understand."

I'm Filipino; it's perfectly reasonable for me not to understand Japanese, right? He thought. Time to mess with my father-in-law's head again.

As his words fell, the "Life Simulator," showing a 97% success rate for the Erina storyline, saw its red progress bar jump from 8% to 10%.

Huh? What does that mean? Messing with my father-in-law increases the value?

Simulator, you've finally done something useful!

Renz had wanted to do this for a long time, but Erina seemed to want him to stay out of it. Who would have thought that teasing his father-in-law was actually a hidden path in the progression? Thinking about it, his marriage to Erina might have been a result of him resolving this deep-seated issue for her, leading to their ultimate victory.

[WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!]

[Erina has performed an action inconsistent with her original timeline. Your life path ending will change as a result!]

On his retina, two new templates appeared next to "Erina 97% (10%)": [Marrying In (90%) / Marrying Out (10%)].

[When the 'Marrying Out' line surpasses the average value of the 'Marrying In' line, the simulator will begin a new round of simulated life.]

Damn it!

My wife's actions can also influence the simulator's progression? So, the outcome with the same person can change based on different actions?

And what was Erina doing to change the "Marrying In" line to a "Marrying Out" line? Renz never expected such a scenario.

However, a warmth spread through Renz's heart.

Given his personality, Renz didn't want to be a live-in son-in-law or change his surname. While he loved Erina and was willing to change many things for her, this particular issue had always been a personal hang-up. If he could marry Erina outright, Renz didn't want to be seen as simply "marrying into" her family.

In other words, Erina was trying to make changes in this direction because she sensed Renz's feelings and wanted to alter their future.

Thinking this, Renz's gaze turned 'bloodshot.'

Father-in-law, my foot! Pfft! Old scoundrel!

Die! So, you're the bastard who bullied my wife?

He was incredibly touched. For Erina, whether Renz married in or out made a huge difference. If he married in, Erina could legitimately utilize all of the Nakiri family's assets. If Renz married her out, Erina might have no claim to the Nakiri family fortune. At most, the Nakiri family might secretly provide some financial assistance to support her, but inheriting the family wealth would be extremely difficult. Their quality of life would be vastly different.

Yet, Erina made this decision, regardless. She chose to stand with Renz, no matter the circumstances.

In the restaurant, Renz was filled with renewed vigor. Knowing that Erina was also striving for a new life, Renz felt he had no reason to slack off.

One after another, bowls of ramen were served to the waiting customers.

When the ramen was delivered to Azami Nakiri's table, he moved his lips, wanting to speak, but hesitated. Several recent incidents had made it hard for Azami to form a judgment, and waiting for over an hour outside the restaurant had left him exhausted.

A nameless anger simmered within him, but if he tried to express it, the other party seemed to not understand. It felt like he was directing his frustrations into thin air, only adding to his annoyance.

Fine, I'll taste his cooking first, Azami thought, his face grim.

If this ramen was made carelessly, just to get it over with, then I'll simply deliver a 'career death sentence' to this chef with no future.
