Hera was somewhat taken aback by Xiao Feng's unexpected arrival. What troubled her most was that Xiao Feng had come with only a single subordinate, yet he dared to penetrate deep into the core of the Alliance forces. Here, a mere word from Sam could mobilize tens of thousands of soldiers. No matter how formidable Xiao Feng was, he could not hope to withstand such overwhelming numbers. Moreover, if Sam discovered that only two men had intruded into his territory, he would never let Xiao Feng escape unscathed.
Thus, Hera's foremost concern was to immediately relay the news of Xiao Feng's presence to her superiors.
Frowning, Hera addressed Xiao Feng, "Can you tell me—Is Zeus still alive or has he perished?" As she spoke, she reached into her handbag, clutching a communicator inside.
Xiao Feng smiled faintly at Hera. "Zeus is alive; you need not worry about that. What matters most now is that I see your legion of supernaturals."
"Hmph," Hera retorted, "You captured my husband and now expect me to aid you? Do you really think that's possible?" As she spoke, her right hand activated the communicator within her bag.
Standing silently nearby, Qin Tian perceived Hera's suspicious movements. Without hesitation, he stepped beside her, his right hand passing straight through her purse to seize the phone from her grasp.
Hera stared in astonishment—she had never witnessed a supernatural ability like Qin Tian's before.
Qin Tian frowned upon seeing the man suddenly appear on Hera's communicator screen. Disgusted, he said to Xiao Feng, "Boss, do you know this guy? Why does he look so hideous?"
Xiao Feng glanced at Sam on the screen. He seemed vaguely familiar, though Xiao Feng had never met him personally. "Move aside. Don't disgust me..." he replied.
Their entire exchange was plainly audible to Sam. While Sam may not have known Qin Tian before, he was certainly familiar with Xiao Feng.
After cutting off the call, Sam instructed his secretary, "Hera is in danger. Quickly pinpoint her location and dispatch a rescue team immediately! Hera must not suffer any harm—this concerns the fate of our entire alliance!"
His secretary responded firmly, "Understood. I'll convey the orders at once..."
Sam then sat at his desk, brows furrowed in thought. After a moment, he picked up the communicator and contacted a man sporting a walrus mustache, who appeared around fifty years old but remained vigorous. The man held a pipe and, noticing Sam's grim expression, asked, "What's wrong? You look troubled."
"Hilton, the time has come for you to act," Sam said sternly.
Hilton, chairman of Hilton Corporation and a titan in global mining, took a puff from his pipe. "You want me to intervene? What's the problem? Isn't there anything you can't handle?"
Sam nodded gravely. "Xiao Feng is near Alliance headquarters. I've already deployed trackers on his signal and will soon pinpoint his exact location. We must prevent that bastard from escaping—no matter what."
Hilton inhaled again. "So you want my bodyguards...?"
"Yes, I need a few of your best. But you must guarantee their safety." Hilton's bodyguards were handpicked from around the world; each was precious to him, and he dreaded any loss.
Sam shook his head. "I can't promise that. I don't know how many men Xiao Feng brought or how strong they are. What I do know is this: Xiao Feng is tough to deal with. Ordinary Alliance soldiers are powerless against him. Only Level Ten supernaturals pose a real threat; the rest stand no chance."
Hilton nodded. "Understood. I knew you'd have him under surveillance. Seems you won't relent unless he's stopped."
Sam chuckled. "Naturally. This matter only Shadow can settle."
"I figured you had no better plan. Tell me Xiao Feng's location, and I'll send Shadow right away."
"Pleasure doing business..." Sam replied with a smile.
...
Xiao Feng turned to Hera. "This is your last chance. If you refuse to lead us to your supernatural legion, don't blame me for being ruthless. Though I don't harm women, my brother certainly doesn't spare mercy."
At that, Qin Tian donned an iron claw, perfectly complementing Xiao Feng's threat.
Hera gazed at Qin Tian and understood Xiao Feng's entourage was no ordinary company. The cold cruelty radiating from Qin Tian's clawed hand sent a chill down her spine.
Biting her lip, Hera said, "Kill me if you wish, but my legion will avenge me..."
Xiao Feng laughed heartily at her resolve. "If your legion were truly formidable, you'd escort me there now and let them finish me off. But judging by your lack of confidence, I doubt they're all that strong."
Hera smiled in return. "You're mistaken. Their power surpasses your imagination. Yet their target isn't you. To the Alliance, you're no significant threat. Their real objective is your X Legion—to utterly annihilate them, along with the Brom and Victoria Corporations. You're just a minor player..."
The smile vanished from Xiao Feng's face. Hera's words unsettled him. His real worry wasn't the fate of the X Legion or those companies but the safety of his friends—Old White, Rice, Alice, Brada, Lin, K, and others. Losing any of them would break his heart, as he had already suffered the pain of losing Turner and Ivy—a torment he vowed never to endure again.
Nodding, Xiao Feng said, "If that's the case, you leave my people untouched..." He then summoned a black longsword, forged from the dark supernatural energy within him.
Qin Tian spoke up, "Let me handle this—I know you can't bring yourself to act."
He strode beside Hera, gripping her neck with one hand while his clawed fingers drew near her eyes. "It's not that we didn't give you a chance..."
Before he could finish, a voice interrupted, "Let go of my mother..." followed by a loud bang.
The sound wasn't a gunshot but an explosive burst of energy.
Xiao Feng yanked Qin Tian back just in time. Before them zipped an egg-sized, oval, golden light orb at lightning speed.
Both turned their gaze to the orb's trajectory, where Di, Hei Tong, and Gui Yao had just appeared.
Sam had alerted Di that his mother was in danger, and they arrived just as Qin Tian struck Hera. Without hesitation, Di aimed his right hand at Qin Tian's head and launched a photon orb meant to kill instantly.
But Xiao Feng's super hunter instincts sensed the attack. He yanked Qin Tian away, sparing him from a fatal blow. Even with Xiao Feng's resurrection power, a destroyed human brain cannot be restored—without the brain, resurrection is impossible.
Xiao Feng studied Di and Hei Tong. Both were tall and handsome, one with golden hair, the other silver, their faces etched with shared hatred. Their fathers had been captured and killed by Xiao Feng, fueling their deep resentment.
Hei Tong told Di, "The taller one is Xiao Feng."
Di glared fiercely, stepping forward as a golden arc of light blades swirled around him. "You still hold my father captive?"
Xiao Feng eyed the radiant blades, recognizing Di's evolved light-based powers. "Who are you? Why would I know your father?"
Di sneered, "Don't play games with me. My father is Zeus. Dare you deny imprisoning him? Damn the Alliance army—they've taken our help for granted and refuse to free my father. They're doomed."
Hei Tong advised, "Leave that brat to me. I'll handle the others..."
Di fixed a hard gaze on Xiao Feng and asked Hei Tong, "Are you confident you can handle him?"
Hei Tong smiled, "After Auntie's evolution, dealing with him is no problem at all. Wait for me to finish him, then we regroup."
