The two made their way from the school building to the dormitory.
Five-Elements Lightning-Dharma!
Nanashi unleashed a vast field of Yin Thunder, covering a wide area around them.
The black thunder greedily drained the vitality of any living creature that wasn't him.
Since this was Level 3 Five-Elements Lightning-Dharma, it was strong enough to completely drain an ordinary human.
Like a death zone, the Black Lightning spread across the area.
Any zombie that stepped into it would be instantly devoured.
To clean up the stragglers, Nanashi raised his hand and summoned Black Thunder, wiping out a large group of zombies in one go.
Yukino pitched in as well, dealing finishing blows where needed.
Arriving at the dormitory building, they barely spared a thought for the fact that it was the girls' dormitory.
There was no time to be picky.
Using the expansive reach of Black Lightning, Nanashi swiftly cleared out the entire building.
Then, he sealed the entrance by barricading the doors with heavy cabinets.
Now, they could finally get a decent night's rest.
With Physical Enhancement Level 2, moving furniture was effortless.
Yukino had already prepared a relatively clean room for them.
She had even made two beds and used her Survival Points to buy food and water.
The dormitory still had running water and electricity.
To prevent light leaks, they sealed the windows and balcony doors with blankets.
With the lights on and food laid out, Yukino—freshly bathed—looked completely out of place in this apocalyptic setting.
It didn't feel like doomsday survival at all.
More like a cozy home.
"You're back!"
Yukino walked over to greet him.
For a brief moment, she almost looked like a wife welcoming her husband home.
Nanashi nodded.
"The entire floor is cleared," he reported.
"The front and back doors are sealed. As long as we lock our room, we can sleep without worry."
"You're amazing, Nanashi-kun."
"It's nothing."
Nanashi walked over to the bed, sat down, and picked up some food.
Finally, a moment of peace.
"Eat quickly and get some rest afterward. We still have a lot to explore tomorrow."
Nanashi didn't dwell on unnecessary thoughts.
They sat down and started eating—simple fare: bread, eggs, sausage, and water.
While eating, Nanashi discreetly opened the chat group, keeping it out of Yukino's sight.
March 7th:"Oh, I wonder how Nanashi is doing. We haven't heard from him in a while. I hope nothing's happened to him."
Aqua:"Why not just @Nanashi? This guy really has no idea how worried people are about him."
Lemuel:"Haha, maybe he's just busy."
Nanashi:"Yeah, I killed a lot of zombies today."
March 7th:"Zombies?! You mean the kind that infect people when they bite?"
Nanashi:"Yep, those exact ones. This doomsday game has us surviving in a zombie-infested world for seven days."
March 7th:"Whoa! That's so cool!"
Saeko:"Cool? It sounds dangerous. Are you alright, Nanashi-kun?"
Nanashi:"I'm fine. Dealing with regular zombies is easy for me."
Aqua:"Heh! Just a bunch of lowly undead. I could purify them effortlessly!"
Nanashi rolled his eyes.
Nanashi:"Of course, of course. Goddess Aqua is the most powerful. I just wonder… will the mighty goddess be sleeping in the stable tonight?"
Aqua:"Huh?! Sleeping in a stable? What nonsense are you spouting?"
Nanashi:"Isn't that what happens?"
Nanashi was confused. Logically, Aqua should still be stuck in the stable phase of her journey.
Aqua:"Hmph! You underestimate me. I showcased my divine skills and landed a high-paying job. I'm staying in a luxury hotel now!"
Nanashi:"And what about the guy who brought you to that world?"
Aqua:"Huh? That bastard? Who knows what city he ended up in?"
"…"
Nanashi was baffled.
Something was definitely different from the anime version of her story.
He was glad he hadn't spoken too much.
And even more relieved that he hadn't tried to play fortune-teller and bluff his way through.
The more you talk, the more mistakes you make.
Reality often differs from expectations.
Seeing with your own eyes is always best.
Lemuel:"What are zombies? Are they scary?"
March 7th:"Huh? You really don't know? Lemuel, let me explain!"
March 7th:"Zombies are like this, this, and this..."
Lemuel:"Ah! Those sound terrifying! Even worse than the Originium infection!"
[Note: Originium Infection is a progressive, terminal "disease" in the world of Arknights, caused by direct or prolonged exposure to Originium.]
In terms of transmission speed, the zombie virus was far more contagious.
Saeko:"By the way, Nanashi-kun, check the chat group. It looks like a new feature has appeared."
Nanashi:"Oh? Let me take a look."
Curious, he navigated to the new feature panel.
His eyes lit up.
There were indeed new functions—three of them:
[Group Chat Red Envelopes], [Group Pictures], and [Group Album].
Red Envelope Function: Allows users to send doomsday points or items to others in the chat.Group Pictures: Enables taking screenshots and sharing them in the chat group or other viewable areas.Group Album: A collection of all images shared in the group.
