Sebastian appeared behind the woman in red, his blade piercing through her heart.
Elijah was observing the woman as his hands began to shake, his mind was filled with fear and confusion. The woman was smiling, contrary to her perilous situation, she was smiling.
Elijah's heart sank as her smile widened.
He started moving towards his remaining guards. Except Conan, everyone was still standing on battlefield.
Just few moments before, all of them were filled with confidence and enthusiasm, ready to face whatever comes before them. But, now they felt hesitant to join Sebastian, after sudden death of their senior, the strongest among them, their morale was severely wounded.
The woman turned her gaze back towards the direction Elijah was formerly present. Her body emitted a faint crimson glow and she disappeared.
Bats, countless crimson coloured creatures, formed in her place and started flying throughout the area around Camp.
"I said I don't have time for you. I'm here for the boy." The woman's voice echoed, sending waves of terror through Elijah's body.
Sebastian's brows furrowed for a moment as he quickly turned back to his calm expression, he raised his right hand in direction of the bats flying toward Elijah, a black flame formed in front of him.
The flame grew larger and turned into a black bird like creature.
The black bird, tiger-sized and raven shaped, soared towards the bats. However, it was stopped by a cloaked figure.
Spiraling glyphs and burning sygils appeared around the cloaked figure as he fought with the bird. The bird shrieked, its obsidian like beak parted, spewing dark flames igniting the crimson sky with shadows.
One of the cloaked figures closed in on Sebastian while the other hovered in the sky fighting with the bird.
The lean looking figure moved to the Sebastian's side, slithering like a snake, his movements were fluid and attacks aimed at vitals.
He wielded a silver thread like blade, almost invisible.
Sebastian quickly pulled himself out of his range, his expression was still calm. However, his eyes wandered towards Elijah, showing clear agitation and anger.
——————————-
The swarm of crimson bats were flying all around.
The remaining guards were unaware of Elijah's presence, but he was standing between them.
Elijah's eyes moved towards the ground below his feet, dull crimson blood was everywhere. Two clear footprints were visible in the blood filled surface, just below him.
What do I do, Why is this all happening?
I don't want to die like this.
Elijah's body was shaking with fear, he held his sword close to his chest as he kept observing the battlefield.
Elijah's gaze moved towards the Conan's headless corpse, he felt a twisting in his stomach and a cold feeling crawled up his spine, he averted his eyes from the gruesome scene.
Three magic knights and a total of fifteen soldiers were standing around Elijah. They all had overcome their fears, seeing Sebastian fight the enemy.
They were fighting with the bats, knights slashing them with the aura bursts from their swords. Soldiers were using arrows, which glowed with magic to fight against these flying monsters.
The air around them was heavy with dread and the stench of blood. Screeching screams of the bats and muffled grunting from the soldiers filled the surroundings.
The bats were as large as a hawk, their body shimmering in the crimson moonlight. Their wings were as sharp as knifes.
Whenever, these creatures were hit, they would dive into the blood filled ground and dissolve. However, an uncountable number of these creatures were flying around the battlefield.
Their eyes, hundreds of them, black and eerie, turned downwards. They watched every movement as they scanned through the battlefield.
"Found you." The woman's enchanting voice echoed through the sky.
Elijah's heart sank,he deactivated his cape and appeared on the battlefield.
The bats started flying towards him and attacked using their sharp wings, forming a barrage of attacks.
The morale of the soldiers was low, however, a deep determination appeared in their eyes.
Seeing Elijah standing behind them, they stopped their attacks formed a circle around him.
A knight appeared before Elijah and formed a magic shield to protect him. While the remaining two knights stood at the front, repelling the bats.
"We won't let these vile creatures cause any harm to you, young master." A woman's voice came from under the knight's helmet.
Elijah didn't give her any reply as he continued to stare at the barrage of attacks around him, his eyes filled with fear and helplessness. He was too scared to speak.
The attacks became more intense, the armours broke, bloody wounds started to appear on soldiers' and knight's bodies. They kept resisting the attacks, their gazes were intense showing their strength and determination.
The earlier hesitation washed away as they all seemed to not care about their lives anymore. They didn't care if they lost an eye or a limb as they maintained their position and kept protecting Elijah. The fear and hesitation they felt when Conan died was nowhere to be found.
The sight in front of Elijah became grim, he watched as the knights in front perished, their limbs broken into pieces. Soldiers were bleeding out to death as they tried desperately to protect him.
The attacks stopped all of a sudden, the female knight in front of Elijah was still standing, her helmet was ripped off revealing her long black hairs, her body was covered with deep cuts.
Elijah kept staring blankly at her back, his body had no serious wounds, only a few minor cuts were visible.
"You look so adorable, I can finally smell your blood."
Plop!
The knight's head dropped to the side, fresh blood gushed out from her neck, covering Elijah's face.
"It's such a waste", the woman in red spoke licking the blood from Elijah's face.
Her eyes glowed deep blue, her breath, as cold as frost.
Sebastian watched as he fought with the cloaked figure wielding the magical threadsword, the black bird was nowhere to be found.
Sebastian removed his feet from the corpse of a man with bright orange hairs, a burly man, his body covered in covered in burnt black cloak. His face still covered by the white mask.
The lean looking cloaked figure was also missing an arm. But, he showed no signs of backing away.
He looked towards Elijah and the woman in red, the only ones who still remained standing. His gaze moved towards a headless corpse lying in the middle of battlefield.
The body of the cloaked figure started to emit a faint blue light, as he vanished and appeared before the Conan's dead body.
"It seems you'll have to help me out." The cloaked figure spoke for the first time since his arrival. His voice cracking and powerless.
"You damned Necromancer!"
Sebastian gritted his teeth in anger and frustration, without a trace of his calm demeanour.
