I'd been taking care of this rabbit for like three days straight—and now she's gone. So I left too.
Went back to my house. Didn't wanna, but Max—my little chaos of a brother—called, threatening me like I was the criminal. And apparently Mom's gotten sick again. "Come visit her." Classic emotional blackmail.
like I'm the culprit, mom she's in bed rest she's been sick since I wasn't at home.
I park my car, walk into her room. Max's already there, hovering. Mom's in bed, pale and resting.

"Mom, why'd you call me?" I asked, arms folded.
"Ruby Daniel Sun…" she started, with that voice. "You're getting older. You should marry someone. A rich boy."
Rich boy. Marriage. That label I hate.

"Maybe," I replied, "but you never gave me love. You raised me to be cold. Heartless."

I stand up from the chair that hard it fall backwards and I slam closed the door max come to stop me I didn't stop instead pat his shoulder ad said take care of yourself and mom and don't wait for me I'll be back once I'm calm.
Back in my villa, I spotted Aveline playing with Leon.
I'm in so much anger that I didn't realise when I scold her. Hey ruby ?
I snapped.
She looked up, gentle and confused.
"Why are you being rude, Ruby?"
"Me? Rude? You shouldn't be here."
"I came to see you... to play with Leon," she said softly.
"And about Kai... please don't hurt him."
And then I really lost it.
"You think I did this to hurt you? I'm trying to protect you! That motherf—Kai is no good!"

She flinched. Tears welled up.
"You kissed me like I meant something. And now…"
Her voice cracked, "Now you act like I annoy you."
She slapped my chest and walked out. Didn't look back.
Even Leon went and sat in the corner like I was the villain.
I sit one minute is like 1 eternity until I got call from alia.
She's anxious "Where the hell is Aveline?! She's not home!"

Ruby are you an idiot she's fucking alone she called me and she's crying damn hard ruby for god's sake go look for her plz.
I swear if something happens to her I won't let you go.
My stomach dropped. All the anger? Gone.
I grabbed my coat. My keys. No second thoughts.
I needed to find her.
Mireline called too, sounding like thunder and heartbreak.
"You promised to protect her, Ruby. Don't you dare break it."
"I'm on it. I swear I'll find her."
And then… I did.
In the rain. Walking alone.
Crying. Shivering. Drenched.
I stopped the car, ran to her.
"Aveline!"
She wouldn't even look at me.
I grabbed her hand—she pulled away.
"Go away. I don't need you."
Her voice was ice.
"Are you crazy?! What if something happened to you?!"
"So what if it did?" she snapped.
Ouch. That one burned.
I picked her up bridal-style—she screamed at me.
"PUT ME DOWN RUBY!"
"Never," I said. "You're coming with me. You're calling your sister. You're going home."
Tied her hands with my damn tie so she wouldn't pull another stunt.
She screamed, "SHE'S KIDNAPPING ME, SIS!" on the phone.
Mireline? Chill.
"Thanks Ruby, take care of her. She's all yours now."

Am not she screamed whatever rabbit we finally went to my villa I again scoop her up while she's screaming well useless that's my place.
At the villa, Leon barked like he was ready to fight me.
"My guy, calm down. I'm tryna help here."
I open the door of my room and put her gently slowly into the bed and took off her heels and let Leon play with her"Aveline go and take a bath...

I sat on the couch, head in hands.
I almost lost her... and not just to the rain.
To my own stupidity.
And I swear, rabbit... I'll never let you walk away like that again.
