[West Eldoria Frontier – Day of Battle]
Dust clouds rose in the distance. The earth trembled under thousands of monster footsteps. Wolves, goblins, ogres, and beasts of all shapes poured from the forest.
Atop a hill near the barricade walls stood the Truck Survivors Clan with other adventurers, soldiers, and mercenaries. Banners whipped in the wind. The air was heavy with tension.
Daichi (drawing his Holy Blade): "This is it."
Aiko (taking a deep breath): "Bigger than I imagined…"
Hiroshi (punching his fists together): "Perfect for a warm-up."
Takeshi (lighting a cigarette, standing beside his Fuso truck): "Well, time to pave a road through this mess."
His truck's engine roared to life.
Yumi (grinning): "You're bringing the truck?"
Takeshi: "Damn right. King said if it can clear monsters, it's welcome."
Jun: "Not sure he meant literally driving through them…"
Aya: "Let him. It's kinda his thing."
[Battle Stations]
The commander of the royal army, Captain Marwick, shouted commands.
Captain Marwick: "Positions! The tide hits in five minutes!"
Ms. Sato (to her team): "Backup the injured. Keep casters safe."
Daichi (to Team 1): "We hold the east barricade."
Takeshi (to Team 3, pointing at the main road): "We clear that road. Fastest way through is straight ahead."
Haru (gulping): "That's… right where the biggest ogre is."
Takeshi (grinning): "Then we're driving through him."
[The Monster Tide Hits]
The ground shook like thunder. Dozens of goblins charged first.
Captain Marwick: "ARCHERS! FIRE!"
Arrows darkened the sky, thinning the front line. The goblins screamed and fell, but the wave behind them didn't slow.
Team 1 met them head-on.
Daichi: "Holy Blade – Radiant Slash!"
A wave of holy light tore through a dozen goblins.
Aiko: "Arcane Tempest!"
Whirling winds and ice shards scattered more monsters.
Sho: "Chaos Cooking – Exploding Meatballs!"
Yes — flaming meatballs rained down on goblins, blowing them up. Nobody questioned it anymore.
Team 2 guarded the healers and support mages.
Usapyon (spinning with dual buns): "BUN SPIN KICK!"
Ken (Shadow Step): "Got your back, Saintess."
Ms. Sato (channeling magic): "Divine Heal!"
Light shimmered over the wounded.
Team 3 was already doing something insane.
Takeshi revved his truck's engine.
Takeshi: "Let's GO, baby!"
The Fuso Shogun 510 shot forward like a battering ram.
Aya: "He's really doing it—!"
Jun: "GET IN OR BE FLATTENED!"
They scrambled onto the back cargo bed.
Nobu (laughing): "This is peak adventuring!"
The truck smashed into goblins and wolves like bowling pins.
Takeshi (grinning): "OUTTA THE WAY, LOSERS!"
A giant ogre roared and raised a club. Takeshi floored the pedal. The truck slammed into it with a meaty CRUNCH, sending it flying into its own army.
Haru (eyes wide): "Did we just… kill an ogre with a truck?"
Takeshi (lighting another cigarette): "Don't leave road hazards lying around."
Everyone in Team 3 screamed and cheered.
[Mid-Battle]
Backup Squad helped defend the flank.
Ren: "Watch out, left side!"
Keita (with a spear): "Got it!"
Kana (casting Wind Arrow): "We can't lose here!"
The monsters kept coming, but the defenders held.
Captain Marwick shouted over the chaos:
Captain Marwick: "Hold the line! Reinforcements arriving soon!"
Daichi (panting, wiping blood off his sword): "We can't let up."
Aiko: "I'm almost out of mana."
Takeshi (from his truck): "Then let's finish this in one run!"
He did a u-turn, the tires screeching. Team 3 rode on the truck bed, weapons ready.
Takeshi: "Last lap, boys!"
Everyone: "YEAH!!"
They plowed straight into the remaining monster line, scattering goblins and crushing ogres.
[End of Battle]
When the dust finally settled, the monster tide was repelled. Survivors cheered. Truck Survivors stood victorious.
Captain Marwick (clapping Takeshi's shoulder): "Never thought I'd see a war wagon like yours."
Takeshi: "Just call me the frontline delivery man."
Everyone laughed.
Daichi: "We did it."
Ms. Sato: "We'll need to heal and report to the king."
Aiko: "And maybe wash the truck."
They looked at the Fuso, covered in monster guts and one ogre arm lodged in the grill.
Takeshi (grinning): "Adds character."
