Turning his gaze back to the red haired woman, Te-Ho was slightly taken aback as he realised that the woman was looking directly at him! Blood spew from her mouth as she lay on the floor, unresponsive and covered in bluish bruises.
Te-Ho quietly observed for another few seconds, before he pulled on his hood and quietly walked away, further into the town.
After spending about fifteen minutes, exploring the town, Te-Ho finally asked a pedestrian and reached the 'Axel Adventurer's Guild'. It was a large five story building made out of bricks and was painted in colours like peach and banana, giving it a soft tone. It had a large wooden roof, the kind you could see in a fairy tail.
The door was huge, made up of wood and metal. It remained ajar as heaps of adventurers went in and out. Te-Ho looked at the sea of adventures, who not only belonged to different species but also were in different shapes and sizes.
Taking a minute to ready up his heart, Te-Ho finally walked in. The inside of the guild was just as bustling, with wooded tables and chairs scattered throughout the largely open room. In the centre was a circular reception desk that had been divided into compartments, each being manned by one or two rather good looking receptionists.
Looking at the adventurers, Te-Ho quietly followed the flow of the line, finally ending up at one of the desks. The clerk sitting there was one of the few lacklustre ones. She had straight black hair, pale skin and medium sized boobs and wore square rimmed glasses. It wasn't to say that she wasn't hot, but the others simply outshined her.
"What can I help you with?" The clerk offered flatly, without sparing Te-Ho a mere glance.
"Want to register as an adventurer." Te-Ho said, trying to speak as little as possible, inorder to avoid blurting out something he wasn't supposed to.
The lady behind the desk let out a sharp exhale as she started typing onto a typewriter, almost like a professional. "Name?" She asked.
"Temian. Temian Grey" Te-Ho replied.
"Age?"
"Twenty three."
"Species?"
'What you blind?' Te-Ho lampooned, before answering.
The clacking sound of the typewriter finally stopped, as the woman pulled out the paper and a small card, handing them to Te-Ho. Without looking up, she muttered, "Sign here and smear the card with your blood."
Having said that, she quietly pointed to a pen stand in the table, next to which was a small metallic pin that was covered in dried up blood.
[That is quite easily the best way to catch a random disease.]
Te-Ho instinctively furrowed his eyebrows as the systems voice resounded in his head.
Preparing his heart, Te-Ho signed the document, and drew a tiny drop of crimson blood using the pin, carefully smearing the card with it. Soon the card hummed, releasing a soft greenish blue glow. Words appeared on its surface and to his surprise. These words were somehow written in Korean.
All Te-Ho managed to read was that he had the Beast Tamer class before the lady rudely snatched back the document and the card. She put the document together with a small pile of other documents and held the card up in front of her.
The moment her gaze focused on it, her brows furrowed. "Foreigner?" She asked in a causal tone.
"Yes." Te-Ho blurted out, unable to find a different excuse.
"Well, anyways… you get ten stat points at level zero. Where do you want to put them? There is strength, agility, endurance, vitality, mana, intelligence among many others"
'Wait stat points? This thing is turning more and more into a game.' Te-Ho lampooned before giving it a deep thought. 'Since I don't know much, I guess I can spread them evenly amongst all of em. Would also be weird if I mentioned a stat that doesn't even exist—'
[Put them all in intelligence.] The system's angelic voice resounded in Te-Ho's head rudely interrupting his stream of thoughts.
'What have you never played a game in your life? Intelligence is literally the worst sta—'
[PUT THEM ALL INTO INTELLIGENCE] the system spoke again, only this time it sounded more like nails on a chalkboard.
[I WILL ELECTROCUTE YOUR PROSTATE TILL IT'S CHARRED BLACK, IF YOU DON'T]
Te-Ho gulped, hearing the system's warning and finally complied fearing for Te-Ho juniors life.
"Intelligence right? Must be quite dumb to need this stat." The receptionist muttered the last part under her breath as she swiped at the card adding the points. "Anything else?" The receptionist asked in an exhausted tone.
Just then, Te-Ho felt as if every living being had disappeared around him. His brain grew foggy as light that seemed to extend all the way from heaven shined on him. Around him he saw weird symbols floating into the air as they suddenly moved towards him, converging around his head and entering into his skull.
Te-Ho felt his heart beat, his arms shaking and his eyes brighten as in that moment he truly knew he had reached an unknown level of enlightenment.
All of a sudden everything turned back to normal—except himself.
"Yes, actaully. I'd like to sell this." Te-Ho spoke with a sly smirk as he removed the otter like creature's corpse from under his cloak and slammed it on the table.
THUD!
The lady in the white receptionist uniform jolted, adjusting her glasses as she traced the sound to a fawn colored furry monster, with a black strips and tiny eyes. It was rather small in size but had razor sharp teeth and two tusks growing out of its mouth.
Stabilising her heart, she narrowed her gaze at the small monster, before her eyes turned wide in shock. Her lips quivered, struggling to find words.
"H—How do you have a B rank Ratizards carcass? Didn't you just unlock your class?" The receptionist blurted out in shock, before quickly covering her mouth as she realised what she did.
But alas it was all too late and by then the whole guild was drowned in a sea of whispers.
'Ho…? So that tiny thing is a B rank and is rather difficult to kill... Interesting. Looks like Adele isn't that weak afterall.'
