Days turned into weeks, and Alexander's schedule showed no signs of slowing down. He was constantly on the go, attending meetings, making deals, and pushing his team to meet the demanding deadlines. The success of the recent deal still lingered in his mind, but he knew there was no time to celebrate. There were more deals to be made, more challenges to be overcome.
As he sat in his office, staring at the stack of documents in front of him, Alexander's mind began to wander. He thought about his conversation with Mary, about the possibility of settling down and starting a family. He felt he needed a break he subconsciously raised one of the papers on his table to read ,an emerald bracelet fell,he reached out to pick it then an image appeared on his mind.
He took a deep breath,he had the urge to see her,he thought of what his father said about nurturing and it might be good but there was still doubts was he good enough for her? Isn't she too young for this?
Just then, his assistant walked in with a cup of coffee and a stack of papers. "Boss,I have the reports you requested," she said, setting the papers down on his desk.
Alexander nodded, taking a sip of his coffee. "Thanks, Rachel. What's the status on the Thompson account?"
As Rachel briefed him on the latest developments, Alexander was satisfied with the report .
"Can you get my car ready I need a break
Rachel was taken aback because Alexander never stops working ,even ignores that fact that he was a human who needed to rest , but till she was happy he knew he needed rest even his dark circles says it
"Yes sir"
"You may go now "
Rachel elegantly walked out of the office, Thank God she'll be free ,his mother has been on her neck these period asking if her son,this was good news.
Alexander sighed and touch his temples,lean his back and thought of Lily.
After scamming through the reports for a long time ,he checked the time it was 7:53 pm.
Alexander felt dizzy from all these working and needed to sleep then he thought he could sleep at Lily's but then Wouldn't it be strange? Going to a lady's house by this time?but then he'll need to nurture a feeling.
' she'll be home by now.' he said to himself then left the office.
As Alexander drove through the evening traffic, the city's lights blurred together, a kaleidoscope of colors and sounds. His mind wandered back to Lily, and he couldn't shake off the feeling that he needed to see her. The emerald bracelet, a piece she left in his car the other day which he was greedy to return was the perfect excuse.
The drive gave him time to reflect on his life, his priorities, and his doubts. He thought about his father's words, about nurturing and growth, and wondered if he was ready for that kind of commitment. The more he drove, the more his thoughts swirled, like the city's traffic.
As he turned onto Lily's street, the buildings became more familiar, and his heart beat slightly faster. Just then the security stopped him.
"Who are you looking for?" The huge fat man asked looking at Alexander,he couldn't help but feel chilly from the man's aura.
"Lily Hawthorne" Alex briefed
This got the huge fat man surprised Lily is a wonderful child who doesn't comes home with visitors ,unless it was her parents.
"And who are you to her?" He asked suspicious of Alexander
Alexander was loosing his patience he looked at the man straight in the eyes.
"Why I'm her boyfriend,open the gate I don't have much time" Alex snapped at him
The huge fat man felt chill ran down his spine from Alexander's sharp green eyes that he quickly opened the gate .
Alexander on the other hand was surprised with himself on what he had just said
'boyfriend? Alexander Redford well done 'he sadi to himself.
He parked his car outside her apartment, took a deep breath, and stepped out into the evening air. The cool breeze carried the scent of blooming flowers, and Alexander felt a sense of calm wash over him.
He stepped into the building ,climbed the stairs,He stood outside the door which he thinks will be Lily's because of the cute perfume sticker on the front door,hesitating for a moment, wondering if he should go through with this. Then, he raised his hand and pressed the doorbell, pressing the doorbell, Alexander's heart skipped a beat.
Lily, who had just finished washing up heard the knock which may her surprised , firstly the time was 8:36pm plus she doesn't have any one visiting her not by this time .
Secondly if it were her parents ,they won't bother knocking ,they know the passwords.
Lily walked to the door to see who it was the moment she saw Alex's face , Her heart skipped a beat,what is he doing here? Did I do something? Oh my goodness my house's messy.
Lily ran back to the sitting room looked at the plate she had just finished eating from, snack papers littering here and there .
Lily's hands moved swiftly as she grabbed the plate and snack papers, hurrying to throw them away in the kitchen. She glanced around the room, her eyes scanning for any other signs of disarray. Her study table was a mess, books and notes scattered everywhere. She quickly gathered the books and stacked them neatly, pushing the notes into a folder.
As she tidied up, Lily's mind raced with thoughts of Alexander's unexpected visit. What was he doing here? Did he want to talk about something specific? She hadn't seen him in a while, and his sudden appearance made her feel nervous.
Lily's hands moved faster, her heart beating in sync with her rapid movements. She straightened the cushions on the couch, fluffed up the pillows, and gave the room a quick once-over. It was still a bit messy, but it would have to do.
She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. Alexander was standing outside her door, and she needed to compose herself. Lily smoothed out her hair, adjusted her top, and took one last look around the room before heading to the door.
