As Lily opened the door, Alexander's eyes met hers, and she felt nervousness ran through her body. "Hey," he said, his voice low and smooth.
Lily's heart skipped a beat as she returned his greeting, trying to play it cool despite the turmoil inside. "Hey, Alexander. Come in." She stepped aside, allowing him to enter her apartment.
As Alexander walked in, Lily couldn't help but notice the way he filled the space. She gestured to the couch, and Alexander sat down, looking comfortable in her living room. Lily sat down beside him, trying to think of what to say.
The silence between them was palpable, and Lily felt a sense of awkwardness. She hadn't expected Alexander to show up at her doorstep, and she wasn't sure what to make of it.
"So, what brings you here?" Lily asked, breaking the silence. Alexander smiled, and his eyes crinkled at the corners. He was cool on the inside but was so nervous trying to steady his trembling hands,he doesn't know why he was like this in front of a girl ,he being a world class businessman , Alexander a mighty man who takes hold of all attention. "And I wanted to return this to you." He pulled out the emerald bracelet from his pocket and handed it to Lily.
Lily was surprised "oh my goodness ,thank you so much ,thank God it's being safe I have been looking for it ,my mother gave it to me on my birthday" she squeak in joy as she wore the bracelet .
Alexander was taken apart and admired Lily's happiness he was glad he saw it to himself that beautiful dimples,realizing how she behaved in front of Alex ,she bowed her head and apologize "oh I'm sorry about that" Lily said as she pushed hair to the back of her ears.
"oh no it's nothing, it's good that I returned it ,you left it in my car the other day" Alexander said he enjoyed watching her.
She looked up at him, her eyes meeting his, and for a moment, they just stared at each other.
The air was charged with tension, and Lily's heart was racing. She didn't know what Alexander's visit meant, but she knew she wanted to find out
'It can't be just to return a bracelet is it? Not by this time?' Lily asked herself .
Lily sat down next to Alex but in a distant space .
'Growl'
That turn heads as Lily looked at Alexander then his body ,Alex was so embarrassed he didn't even know he was hungry.
Alexander's face turned slightly red as he looked at her sheepishly. "I guess I'm hungry," he admitted, feeling a bit embarrassed.
Lily's expression softened, and she smiled. "I'll make us something to eat," she said, standing up and heading towards the kitchen.
Although she had always had dinner ,there weren't any left overs plus she still felt hungry.
Alexander followed her, taking a seat at the kitchen counter. "You don't have to go out of your way," he said, watching as Lily began thinking about what to cook.
"How about some grilled chicken with roasted vegetables?" Lily asked.
Alexander's eyes lit up. "That sounds amazing, thank you," he said, enjoying the warmth and coziness of the kitchen.
Lily smiled and began preparing the meal, expertly seasoning the chicken and vegetables. As the aroma of grilled chicken and roasted vegetables filled the air, Alexander's stomach growled again, and he laughed softly. "I guess I'm really hungry," he said, his eyes locked on Lily as she worked in the kitchen.
Watching Lily doing her cooking reminds him of his father's words then his mother's words from his sister, having someone cooking for you and all that , it was good , the idea made him rethink, he'll give his parents go ahead.
When Lily was done, she placed everything on the dinning table, Alex was grateful , his mouth was watery from looking at the food and all it's aroma but he made show not to show any expression.
As they sat down to enjoy the grilled chicken and roasted vegetables, Alexander couldn't help but rave about the food. "This is incredible, Lily. You're an amazing cook," he said, taking another bite.
Lily blushed, feeling pleased with herself. "Thanks, I'm glad you like it, I learnt it from my father." she replied, smiling.
" That's amazing,no wonder your Dad's the best chef in town ,you could take on his legacy."Alex said as he took another bite elegantly.
Lily was once again flattered by his compliment about her and her father" thank you."
As they continued eating quietly . Their minds thinking of many things.
Lily once in a while looked at Alex wore out appearance he had dark circles around his eyes 'he must be very tire' she said to herself
Soon dinner was over Alex insisted on washing the dishes but Lily refused and told him to sit at the sitting room .
Lily having the upper hand ,started washing the dishes,on the other hand Alex noticed the books on Lily's desk, he saw she had been studying , looking at her laptop he was curious of what she had been doing ,he could have hacked into it but refrained himself,He flipped through the books and was interested in the content.
Lily came out to see Alexander holding one of her textbooks, Alex sensing her presence looked up.
Lily looked down nervously before saying "I thought of what you said and decided to apply for an online class"
Alex smiled "it's good you , have you heard anything?"
"Oh I haven't,I don't know if it was good , it's being weeks since I have heard from them" Lily said.
Alex nodded in understanding "don't worry I'll help you with that and if there's anything difficult I might be able to come help you" Alex said
"You will?" Lily's voice filled with hope
"Yes,also tell me when the form will be out then I'll see what to do?" Alex said again
This made Lily more happy "it will be out October and I don't even know some solvings" Lily pout.
"That won't be a problem" bringing out pen from his pocket,he wrote his personal number on her textbook "there's my number on the page 26 of this book"
"Oh I'm so delighted, Thank you" Lily once again smiled happily with Alex was beginning to like.
As the evening wore on, Alexander glanced at his watch and realized it was getting late. "Wow, I didn't realize how much time had passed," he said, feeling a pang of disappointment at the thought of leaving.
Lily nodded, and then hesitated before speaking. "You know, it's already pretty late, and I don't feel it will be good venturing out into the night. Would it be okay if I stayed here for the night?" She asked, her eyes hopeful.
Alexander expression softened, this was what he has been looking for he pretended to consider her request for a moment before nodding. "I'll can stay, but...I didn't bring in clothes" He said, a hint of a smile on her face.
"Oh that'll be nothing ,I think I have a good one for you.... I'll make arrangements "
Alexander's eyes locked onto hers, and he smiled back. "Thank you, I really appreciate it," he said, his voice sincere.
