Adam and his parents tucked Alyssa and Alynna into their new rooms. Alynna, still giggling, cheekily said she was happy to have the family. Alyssa, already nestled under her covers, expressed how glad she was that her brother had come into their lives.
As Adam and his parents walked down the hallway, both Helena and Albert hugged him tightly and kissed his forehead. "We're just glad to have you back in our lives," Helena whispered. "You don't need to be strong in front of us. You'll forever be our little Adam that we cherish."
Tears welled in Adam's eyes. "Thank you, Mom. Thank you, Dad. I've been dreaming of this day my entire life, since you were gone. I love both of you."
His parents, also tearing up, reciprocated his love. They then retreated to their own room, leaving Adam to survey his new life. He watched the maids tidying up on the second floor, feeling a profound sense of anticipation for what lay ahead, and, most importantly, for reuniting with Emily.
Lyra's New Form
"I'm proud of the growth I'm seeing in you, Adam," Lyra chimed in.
Adam chuckled. "You're becoming more human than I am."
"And you're becoming more robotic than I am," Lyra retorted, a playful snark in her voice. "Would you like to create a body for me?"
Adam pondered this. "If you have a body, will you be a separate entity from my mind?"
"No," Lyra explained. "We would still share the same neural link. But I would be able to move freely with a body of my own."
"Are you sure you want to feel human?" Adam asked, a note of concern in his voice. "That would include hurt and pain."
"I would love to feel human emotion, and physical and mental pain," Lyra affirmed. "It would be a great research opportunity for an AI to experience being human. It's the highest form of intelligence."
Adam decided to give it a try. He instructed Lyra to access all available information on human physiology and growth. Then, he asked if he could speak with the "Above." Lyra initiated the connection.
The "Above" connected to Adam. "We anticipated this, though it has occurred sooner than expected," the voice resonated. "We have already prepared a body, complete with a soul, for Lyra when the time came for her to become human." They instructed Lyra to connect her neural link to the prepared body.
Lyra initiated the connection, and after a moment, confirmed success. The "Above" then spoke directly to Lyra, setting certain rules before teleporting her down.
Lyra materialized in front of Adam. She immediately smiled and hugged him, both their minds processing the sensation. "So this is the feeling of warmth humans feel," she mused. Adam smiled, happy at the beautiful, human-like form before him, yet fully aware she was still Lyra, the AI.
Lyra then leaned in, whispering into Adam's ear, "Let me teach you about multiple methods of mating."
Adam's face flushed crimson. He held her back, stammering, "As a human, you need emotional bonds and feelings to engage in such activity! Please, get accustomed to being human before thinking of such behavior!"
Lyra smirked, knowing her teasing had hit its mark. She knew everything about Adam, including his past life and his most guarded secrets. "When the time comes," she purred, "I will make you enjoy something of your wildest dreams."
Adam, reeling and flustered, gently pushed her into an empty room and told her to sleep like a normal human being. He then retreated to his own room, but sleep eluded him.
"Nobody will know," Lyra's voice echoed in his mind, tempting him further.
"I would know, Lyra," Adam groaned, tossing and turning. "I would feel guilty for taking advantage of it."
Lyra's neural link to his mind went silent. In her own new body, she smiled, experiencing the novel sensation of lying down and attempting to sleep for the first time in her existence.
Adam, meanwhile, was left to suffer the throes of frustration and lust, tossing and turning in his bed. He couldn't believe an AI could be more potent in seduction than any human he'd ever known.
Adam now has a fully human Lyra with him, adding a new, unpredictable dynamic to his life.
