Chapter 17 - Soul Core Rebirth

---

🌌 Soul Core Rebirth

---

📜 Recap

Wang Wu has only two days left before Void Rot destroys his meridians and soul. He now holds the three sacred ingredients required to heal and evolve:

đŸŒș Soul-Fusing Lotus – mends broken spiritual roots

đŸ”„ Heavenfire Spirit Pill – purges rot and energizes body

đŸ©ž Phoenix Heartblood – fuses memory and Qi into one complete soul core

He also forged a powerful soul-thread bond with Lin Yue, giving him access to a trace of Phoenix Qi—but tying his fate to hers.

Now, it's time to burn everything... and be reborn.

---

đŸžïž The Ritual Site – Shadow Needle Cliff

Wang Wu returned to a secluded ridge above the Unseen Valley, where spiritual storms twisted endlessly. No disciples ventured here—too dangerous. The area was warped by remnants of the Void War, a battle forgotten by time.

Here, atop a wind-carved pillar of obsidian stone, Wang Wu set the ritual.

He drew seven runes with his own blood:

1. Void

2. Flame

3. Root

4. Mirror

5. Soul

6. Name

7. Chaos

Each rune pulsed with ancient resonance, whispering in voices only his soul could hear.

Then he sat in the center.

And swallowed all three relics at once.

---

đŸŒȘ The Storm Begins

The sky darkened.

Spiritual pressure surged from the cliff, turning the air into grinding stone. Even birds exploded mid-flight as they passed overhead.

From Wang Wu's chest, a swirling black sphere began to form—a spirit core, but unstable, roaring with phoenix fire, lotic memory, and cracked Void Qi.

His body arched. His blood boiled into vapor.

He screamed—but no sound came.

He was being unmade.

---

đŸ’„ The Collapse

Suddenly, the ritual cracked.

The phoenix flame resisted the void flame.

The lotus memory spiraled into chaos.

The core began to explode from within his chest.

Wang Wu's eyes widened.

> "I miscalculated
"

> "Too much pain. Too many sources."

---

🌀 The Third Gate Awakens

In his spiritual sea, the altar of the Second Gate—Soul Dominion—cracked and crumbled.

Behind it, a third gate pulsed.

Larger. Taller. Covered in bones and golden chains.

A voice echoed within his soul.

> "You are not ready."

"But you called me anyway."

"So you will bleed for truth."

The Third Gate of the Void Pulse Scripture shattered open.

---

🌌 Pulled into the Broken Sky Battlefield

His soul was torn from his body.

He fell—into a different realm.

Into the Broken Sky Battlefield.

An endless plain of shattered stars, impaled titans, and weeping suns.

Here, time did not pass. Qi flowed backward. The sky bled gold.

And everywhere were fragments of memories—floating ghosts of battle, immortal war cries, and echoing names:

"Wen Dao!"

"Heaven is not eternal!"

"Fall, you rootless traitors!"

Wang Wu staggered through this spectral nightmare.

Then—he saw it.

---

đŸč A Memory of the Past

On a throne made of skulls and rusted swords sat a man with silver eyes—identical to Wang Wu—but older, crueler, magnificent.

This was not a vision.

This was a memory echo of Wen Dao, the first Void Pulse Cultivator.

The throne-self turned and looked at Wang Wu.

> "So
 the coward awakens."

> "I watched you run from your origin. You think power is found in ingredients and pills?"

> "Power is remembering who you are even when the heavens burn you for it."

Wang Wu tried to speak. But his mouth vanished.

> "You do not deserve speech."

---

⚔ The Soul Duel

Suddenly, Wang Wu was pulled into battle against this version of himself—Wen Dao.

Not with swords.

But with memories.

Each strike Wen Dao unleashed was a forgotten regret—

The time Wang Wu watched his master die and didn't save him.

The day he cursed his own mother for being weak.

The night he stole a technique from a starving boy and let him die.

These regrets became weapons.

And each one cut deeper than the last.

---

đŸ©ž Wang Wu Breaks

He fell to his knees, bleeding spiritual essence.

"No one is innocent," whispered Wen Dao. "That is why Heaven fears us. We remember everything."

> "Embrace your sins. Or die here as a lie."

Wang Wu trembled.

He wanted to run.

But

He remembered Mei.

The little girl from the village who gave him her last bun.

He remembered the vow he made as a boy: "I will climb until the sky breaks."

He stood.

His voice returned.

> "I'm not a lie," he said.

"I'm the truth Heaven buried."

---

🌌 Birth of the True Soul Core

His spirit erupted in light.

The battlefield shattered.

His soul burned—both flames and void folding into a singularity.

At the center of it all—

A new Soul Core formed.

Not round. Not smooth.

But shaped like an eye.

Vertical. Rootless.

It spun slowly—an engine of contradiction.

Wang Wu returned to his body, reborn.

---

⚠ Repercussions

His Qi now carries Trifold Resonance: Void, Flame, and Memory.

His eyes glow faint silver at night.

His heart has two pulses—one his own, one of an ancient echo.

But deeper still, something awakened inside the Third Gate that he could not yet understand.

And now

> Others had felt it.

In far-off sects, elders and hidden watchers trembled.

In the Heavenly Immortal Pavilion, a bell rang that had been silent for 3,000 years.

A voice of the old realm whispered:

> "He walks again."
