Chapter 18 - Hunted by the Heaven-Touched

---

☄️ Hunted by the Heaven-Touched

---

📍 Location: Broken Sky Province – Sky Ascend Sect

Three days had passed since Wang Wu's soul core rebirth.

Three days since the Void shook beneath his body.

He now sat alone atop a jagged stone pillar at the edge of the Silent Ridge, dressed in a torn black robe, a blindfold over his eyes. Not because he couldn't see—

—but because everything his eyes touched now saw him back.

The Eye Core spun within his chest. Every time it pulsed, it pulled whispers from the wind, pain from the ground, and danger from far-off realms.

> "I broke through," he whispered. "But at what cost?"

---

🌍 Elsewhere: Reactions Across the Continent

⚖️ The Immortal Law Court – Northern Cloud Realm

Inside the high tower of obsidian law, five ancient judges stood before a star map.

The center had fractured.

> "The Eye Core has been reborn," one of them said.

"Wen Dao's lineage was supposed to be erased. This cannot be."

"Then the Heaven-Touched will awaken."

The lead judge, a skeletal woman called Warden Jia, turned to the shadows behind her.

> "Send the Eight Mirrors. I want the boy's root shattered before the Fourth Gate opens."

---

🐉 Dragonbone Abyss – Far South

Deep under the ocean, beneath dragon skulls and molten light, an old beast stirred.

A golden-eyed woman stood upon the sea floor, cloaked in frostfire scales.

> "Void Qi… and Phoenix Qi… in one body?"

"He is not an enemy. He is a bridge."

She turned toward the surface.

Her name: Qin Xuelan, Daughter of the Bone Sea.

> "Bring him to me alive."

---

🩸 Heaven-Touched – What Are They?

The Heaven-Touched are not humans.

They are spirits given flesh by Heaven itself—formed from karmic pressure, born to correct "errors" in the world's fate.

Some walk as monks. Some as nobles.

Some never age. Others can only exist for seven days.

Each is bound to a Heaven Mark—a glowing symbol that grants them divine judgment power.

And now… they had felt Wang Wu's Eye Core awaken.

He had become a cosmic contradiction.

And contradictions must be eliminated.

🧙‍♂️ Introduction of a New Character

🕯️ The Pale Whisperer

On a distant cliff, wrapped in funeral robes and bone beads, a man with no face knelt in silence.

He carved Wang Wu's name into the wind.

> "The Void Child opens the path."

"Third Gate... and soon, the bridge to the Rootless Sea."

He smiled with no mouth.

> "My master has waited 9,000 years."

He vanished, leaving only dead birds in the trees.

---

🧍 Back to Wang Wu: The Voice of the Gate

That night, Wang Wu's dreams bled again.

The Third Gate, still open inside his spiritual sea, pulsed violently.

A voice—not Wen Dao's, but something older, now echoed:

> "The Fourth Gate is sealed beneath the world."

"Before you reach it, the Heaven-Touched will test you."

"You are hunted now. Prove yourself. Or be forgotten."

Wang Wu woke gasping, clutching his core.

A blade of white light had been buried in the ground near him.

He didn't put it there.

> "They've already found me…"

---

☁️ The First Hunter Arrives

By dusk, thunder split the sky.

A man dressed in white silk descended from the clouds riding a tiger made of wind and runes.

His hair was braided in gold. His face was ageless. His eyes were mirrors.

His presence made the mountain bend.

> "Wang Wu, bearer of the Third Gate," the man said, voice calm and cruel.

"You are declared a deviation. The Court of Heavenly Silence condemns you."

Wang Wu didn't flinch.

He stood.

And drew his blade.

---

⚔️ Duel: Wang Wu vs Heaven-Touched Mirror Envoy

The man raised a single hand.

From the air around him, thousands of reflections formed—copies of Wang Wu, Lin Yue, his dead master, even himself as a child—all turning on him, attacking from every angle.

> "We fight not with strength," the envoy said.

"But with the truth of what you fear."

Wang Wu's Eye Core pulsed.

He bent space.

And struck not the envoy—but his own illusions—shattering them.

> "I fear nothing now."

He roared—

> Void Technique: Fracture Horizon!

The land tore. The envoy stumbled, shocked.

> "Impossible…"

Wang Wu closed the distance—

And drove his fist into the envoy's chest.

The Heaven-Touched burst into glass.

---

🕳️ The Warning

In death, the envoy's last whisper echoed:

> "The First Mirror is broken. But seven remain."

> "The next will not be alone."

---

End

Wang Wu is now:

Marked by Heaven

Being hunted by divine assassins called Heaven-Touched

Feared and sought by major sects, lost factions, and ancient clans

Known across continents

But this is only the beginning.

The Fourth Gate of the Void Pulse awaits…

And its key lies buried in a cursed prison no one returns from:

The Sea of Screams.
