Lily POV
"She's not here!" When I heard Maya's voice on the radio, my heart stopped beating. "We've searched the entire north part. There is no sign of Emma anywhere!"
I got down on my knees in the snow. The radio was shaking so badly in my hands that I could hardly hold it. Three hours. She hadn't been seen in three hours, and we still didn't know where she was.
"Lily, breathe." Ethan's strong hands pulled me back to my feet. "We're going to find her."
But I could smell his fear through his brave words. Everyone was scared. The whole pack had spread out across Pine Ridge, checking every inch of forest, every cave, every hiding spot a four-year-old might think was safe.
"The mine," I whispered, my voice barely working. "She ran toward the pits when those men took her. What if she's still there?"
Dominic's words crackled through the radio from somewhere deeper in the woods. "Negative. I checked every tunnel. The bad guys are gone, but Emma's not there either."
