Lily Evans POV
The car door slammed as Ethan shoved me inside.
"Drive! Now!" he yelled to someone in the front seat.
I couldn't see who was driving because my vision was fuzzy from crying. All I knew was that Emma was gone. Victoria had taken my daughter and disappeared into the woods while government agents were shooting those awful sonic weapons at the pack.
"Where's Emma?" I sobbed. "We have to find Emma!"
"We will," Ethan promised, pulling me close. "But first we need to get you somewhere safe."
The car was speeding down back roads I didn't recognize. My hands wouldn't stop shaking. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw those metal cages the agents had brought. They wanted to put my four-year-old baby in a cage.
"This is all my fault," I whispered. "I should never have brought her back to Pine Ridge."
"Stop it," Ethan said strongly. "This is Victoria's fault, not yours."
