Fenja didn't feel fine. She felt her head was very heavy, her ears were ringing, but 'fine' was the default answer she used to using, she didn't even think twice when she answered that. It felt normal, just like breathing.
She was not used for people to worry about her, thus she always brushed off all the concern. As long as she could handle it and it was bearable, she was fine.
"Do you remember what happened?" Alpha Jaxon asked again. He sat down on the edge of the bed, watching her reaction closely.
Fenja pressed her lips and then answered him softly. "No. I don't."
Alpha Jaxon didn't say anything for a while, but when someone entered the room, he muttered under his breath. "Lie."
Fenja looked at his eyes and she could see his disdain there. He hated a liar.
Fenja lowered her gaze and let the doctor to check on her. Only then, she realized she was in a hospital
This place screamed luxurious. She had never been in this kind of place before. She felt intimidated and was afraid to recklessly touch anything here.
Even the Shayne's bedroom was not like this. The bed was very comfortable and the temperature in this room was perfect.
Not to mention about food…
"Can I go back home now? I feel better. I am really thankful for everything," Fenja said to Jack. Now she finally knew his name.
No matter how comfortable this place was and how much she wanted to stay here forever if she could help it, she knew it was very delusional of her if she insisted to pretend that she was still sick when in actuality she was already fine.
She still remembered how alpha Jaxon called out for her lie.
It had been two days and right now Fenja didn't feel necessary to extend her stay. More importantly, she needed to work, or else, she wouldn't have money to pay her food and rent.
"I think we can't force you to stay longer than this," Jack said, he sat down on a chair next to Fenja's comfortable bed. He looked at her seriously. "But, there is something I want to offer to you."
There was only the two of them alone inside this room, while in the last two days, Fenja didn't see alpha Jaxon. The last time she saw him was when the first time she regained her consciousness.
"What do you want to talk about, sir?" Fenja was curious.
"I think you might have guessed about what I wanted to talk about." Jack cleared his throat and Fenja was not dumb to not know the main topic of this discussion.
This was the elephant in this room. Fenja was glad Jack brought this up first.
"As you can see there is something not normal about alpha Jaxon."
Fenja nodded. She noticed that too. It was obvious.
She had told Jack about what happened, because he asked her yesterday, but he didn't give any reaction and only listen to her story. She also told him about the kiss, but all he could say was; he apologized for the discomfort.
"What happened with him, if I may know?"
Jack didn't answer immediately, he looked trouble to reply for the question, but he came up with this conversation because he wanted to make Fenja aware about it.
"He was diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder."
Jack paused, he waited for Fenja's reaction, but the woman only stared at him with confusion.
"What is that?" That sounded fancy, but Fenja didn't have any idea about it.
"Alpha Jaxon has more than one personality, as far as we knew, there are three of them." Jack then explained in more detail about the three alpha Jaxon's personalities, he used simple words for Fenja so she could understand better, because she seemed never heard anything like this.
Alpha Jaxon's first personality was so rare to come to the surface, but you could see the different when he was being calm and collected, in this phase, he chose to be left alone.
His second personality was the one that came to Fenja's apartment, he was cheerful and warm. Jack noted that this personality was the one that was obsessed with Fenja and demanded for her to be close to him.
While his third personality was this one, the very violent one.
Fenja didn't need to be explained in detail because this personality was the one who attacked her that night. He almost strangled her to death. Thankfully, the alpha second's personality took over in the knit of time, but Fenja had fallen unconscious.
"I have never heard something like this…" She was born and lived in a rather rural area, more so, she grew up as an omega, therefore, she was not privileged to further education.
However, that was not the main reason why Jack talked to her about this matter. This was only an explanation and obviously, it wouldn't stop here.
"Why did you tell me about all of this, sir?" Fenja finally asked.
Jack looked a little bit flustered, but then he fished out something from his pocket, it was an enveloped and when Fenja opened it, she was stunned to see a lot of money inside. She had never seen this much money in her life.
"For what is this?" Fenja looked at Jack with anticipation, she tried to think the worse, but she still didn't have any idea what he wanted from her.
"I can't send the money to your account, since you don't have one," he explained. "Therefore, I can only give this to you like this."
The money that Fenja held right now was only a compensation for the distress she had to endure and what happened two nights ago, but she couldn't tell anyone about this.
Actually, this was not a problem for her at all, because even if she wanted to tell someone, she didn't have a friend to share with.
The thought of that was rather pitiful…
