Chapter 1 - Yuhe The Begger

In a distant world where magic and sorcery had taken over the normal everyday lives of everyone. And crazy monsters had emerged from terrible gates that destroyed and turned the new world upside down.

There was a young man with pale skin and dirty clothes walking through the main roads of the city going from door to door begging for money. And promptly getting his ass kicked by gangsters for being annoying. Nevertheless the pale man with black hair that was now in a loose ponytail and covered with bruises on his emaciated body. Somehow toughed through the pain and finally sat down on the curb of the forgotten road where he learnt the hard way why cops dont frequent it often. With a groan he laid on the sidewalk with hoarse breaths and finally closed his eyes.

Yuhe was a frail boy, with an unfortunate life. The world he grew up in was practically a devastated wasteland from the mistakes of his stupid elders and long dead leaders. If it wasnt for the discovery of runes and spacial magic. The Earth he knew would've not been recoverable, that is not saying that the world was fixed. It was still in the verge of collapse and very hard for humans to breath when not in a ventilated area. A constant grey fog filled mostly everywhere other than the major cities. Not everything was terrible, although it was very hard to find joy in this quickly declining world. After the Sun Lord was defeated by the Moon Goddess, night was basically constant. This might be seen as a bad thing but the night was very good because it reduced the visibility of the dangerous monsters that constantly roamed the forgotten roads and towns that weren't protected by the complex weave of the rune barriers.

One such unprotected place was currently the area surrounding Yuhe's comfortable sleeping spot. Normally when there isn't a protective rune barrier in a place with a semi-large group of humans, there is a small army dispatched in the general vicinity of the population by the government. Of course that's on paper, but in reality the military of almost every nation was quickly overwhelmed and outgunned, by the tyrants coming outside the portals that would form with no real warning.

The situation seemed terrible but thankfully, while it seemed the Sun Lord was holding back the invasion by himself. The new person in power, The Moon Goddess, gifted a special set of humans with otherworldly powers that could slay a dragon with one strike. Destroy whole towns with a breath. Or even craft mythical cages to trap an entire population of tyrants.

These powers were not only nearly impossible to gain amoung the human population, but also nearly impossible to master, with only around a dozen known people in China and only one or two that would help a stranger such as himself.

The young begger woke up, it was morning with the sun rising and countless colors Yuhe hadnt seen in years forming in the sky. A single tear streamed down his eyes as he saw his beautiful mother sitting on a chair in the morning sun, the window she was looking out of was as clear as it should've been and incredibly thin for today's standards. His mother looked to be in her early 30's, her face was warm and had a few wrinkles on it, she was wearing her robe and had a blanket covering her waist and a comfortable expression rested on her smile. She seemed to be looking at something so naturally Yuhe followed her gaze til he settled on a beautiful driveway. What he saw made him feel an empty hole in his body be filled with a warm fuzzy feeling, his father was right there, walking out of his truck in his work clothes with his keys in his hands and a bright smile on his face. It seemed that his father also had all his worries wash away when looking at his wife. His parents were right infront of him, it was like a movie. He wanted to stay for longer. He wanted to live here forever. He wanted to see his family's joy and happiness forever.

That was of course when the sky started to quickly dim.
