Chapter 1 - Where It All Began......

Year 2025, in a remote cave situated above the Himalaya mountain.

A group of military officials could be seen standing in front of the cave holding high-tech weapons. Even in the biting cold, they stood like iron poles without any discomfort.

"Surrender yourself, Ghost. You know very well that hiding here will only increase your crimes. Hand over the coordinates and I will clear all your offenses," one of the men yelled as he gazed into the entrance of the cave.

Inside the cave,

A middle-aged man could be seen leaning against the stone wall of the cave. Under the dim light, his disheveled hair which hid his face and his blood-stained clothes showed that he was not in a good state at this moment.

"Where is Jasmine? I want to see her first before I hand over the coordinates to you," John yelled back to the man outside.

"Come out first. It is my promise that I will give you a satisfactory answer regarding your wife," the voice outside paused for a moment and replied.

John took a deep breath and after picking up his two long swords from the ground he slowly stood up.

With steady steps, he walked outside the cave. He was also wearing a military uniform like the soldiers outside, but his appeared to be of a higher grade judging from the number of stars on his shoulder.

When the soldiers outside saw John walking out, they involuntarily tensed up even though he was only holding a pair of shiny swords in his hand.

"Drop your weapon and please be on your knees, Commander," the officer who spoke earlier called out.

John let go of his swords and dropped onto his knees.

"William, answer my question. Where is Jasmine?" John asked in a rough voice.

"Fire," William did not give an answer to John. He simply ordered his subordinates to shoot.

John's eyes turned cold when he heard this. Even before the bullets could reach him, with inhuman speed he picked up the two swords and like a ray of light dashed towards the soldiers who were firing nonstop.

"Om Kreem Kalikaya Namaha,"

this was the only voice William heard before all of his soldiers fell to the ground in pieces.

Without hesitation, he also took out his gun intending to fire at the fast-moving shadow before him, but in the next second his hands fell to the ground leaving only the still-bleeding stumps behind.

"Arghhhh," he fell onto the snow with a shrill scream.

"Until my Kali Maa is with me, even death will not have the guts to take my life away. Do you really think a bunch of idiots like you will be able to put an end to me?" John's calm voice rang in William's ears.

Looking up, he saw John standing before him with his blades still dripping with the blood of the soldiers he had slaughtered.

"Commander, think about the greater good. If you come to our side you will have everything you could not even dream of," William said stutteringly as he endured the severe pain coursing through his body.

"Where is Jasmine?" John repeated the previous question emotionlessly.

William went silent for a moment. In the end, he gritted his teeth and said, "One month after you left she was forcefully taken away by Dr Zen. After three months we got a report from the lab saying she died during a fire accident. I do not know anything else."

"Swoosh..."

As soon as William finished, the sword in John's hand moved like a phantom and his head was cleanly cut off from his neck.

John looked around the blood-stained snowfield one last time and walked down the slope after throwing his swords to the side.

One week later,

Inside a laboratory, a young-looking man in a lab coat could be seen talking to someone on his phone, "Send me all the ancient texts on meditation you can gather from India. If my intuition is correct, they really contain a way to connect to a dimension that has been unknown to us until now."

"Hey Zen, it has been a long time since we saw each other right?" suddenly a chilling voice rang behind the young man.

A small smile appeared on the young man's face when he heard this voice. He turned around and said, "So the rumors are true. The legendary superhuman code-named Ghost is still alive?"

John looked into the young man's eyes expressionlessly and said, "I came all the way from India to the United States not to hear your praise. I have one question and all I need is an answer. What happened to Jasmine?"

Zen dragged a chair from the side and sat on it, "Look buddy, since we lost connection with you after your mission started, we thought you also perished like the soldiers from before. Your abilities which redefined human standards until now were not something we wished to disappear with your death. That is the reason why we asked for Jasmine from your military so that we could extract your genes from the child in her belly and recreate a superhuman like you."

"As you know, research is a play of probabilities. Unfortunately, she did not survive and in the end, both the mother and child died."

John's eyes widened. He asked stutteringly, "She... she was pregnant?"

Zen nodded calmly, "Yeah, unfortunately, we could not save both of them. Now do not try to take revenge for them in vain. This room is filled with Virus XP. Without the antidote, even an elephant will not be able to move after being here for more than a minute. From the looks of it, your body is already in a paralyzed state under its effect."

John remained silent without a word. In the end, he sighed with tears in his eyes, "Kali Maa, after five years of our marriage you blessed us with a child. But in the end, I failed to protect them..."

"Haha... John, you do not have to be so sad. This virus will only affect your mobility. If you take an antidote your body will revert back to normal in an instant. Do not be trapped in this emotional stuff. There are hundreds of women more beautiful than Jasmine in this world. You can select anyone. Even if she is some famous film actress, we will get her in your bed," Zen said with a sly grin on his face.

John sat on the floor, unaffected by the virus Zen claimed was paralyzing him.

"How is that possible?" Zen's face paled.

John ignored Zen's shocked expression and said, "You know Jasmine is twenty-three years younger than me. I first met her during a party conducted by her father who was one of our squad captains when I first enrolled into the Asian Federal Army."

"At first, she approached me through her father saying she was interested in learning Shiv Kalari, which was a unique martial art practiced only in some parts of India."

"Seeing how enthusiastic this young girl was, I agreed since I was also stationed at a base near her place. Unknowingly, our relationship went from being master and student to lovers over the next two years. I who was a loner until then slowly started dreaming of a family life with her. In the end, she married me against the will of her parents and relatives..."

"Why are you telling me this?" Zen asked warily, his hand inching toward the gun at his waist.

John wiped his eyes with a light smile, "You asked for the coordinates for the G34 missiles right? Well, I have reset the coordinates a little bit and the missile will be delivered to you at any moment."

Zen's face changed, "What..."

"Bang... Boom"

Before he could even finish his words, an area of around five kilometers including the research center was blasted into nothingness by a missile straight from space, leaving no evidence or witnesses to say what happened to this place.
