"Do you now understand your own body well enough?" Evylin asked, while Oliver instinctively nodded his head.
"With a unique body, cultivation is practically easier for you. Even understanding the scriptures and innate techniques from your body won't be as difficult as understanding external Scriptures or Techniques. If you want to know more about your scripture and techniques, just think about asking for their description and the details will appear before your eyes."
Hearing that, Oliver instinctively thought about asking for the description of Black Hole.
(Black Hole allows you to devour everything around you. You possess a single Black Hole hidden within your body which can be used for cultivation. Until your understanding of Black Hole reaches 5%, you won't be able to release it from your body for combat purposes!)
Oliver read the description with great curiosity, then requested the description for Void Body Transformation.
(Void Body Transformation allows you to turn your body into void, which will nullify anything that touches you and anything you touch.
If you want to turn your body into void, you need to increase your understanding to 10%.
Currently, you can only form void lines on your body. Reach 1% understanding to transform at least one part of your body into void!)
"Why do I already have some understanding of the scripture and one technique?" Oliver asked, a bit confused because not everything started at 0%.
"That's normal because they're part of you. As someone with an innate talent, it's more accurate to say your cultivation is simply about uncovering your own potential," Evylin explained.
Oliver nodded again after hearing that.
It seemed that as a teacher, Evylin didn't mind answering any of his questions.
"Then, is there a way to quickly increase my understanding?" he asked again.
Even though Evylin said it would be easier for him, it still felt difficult.
This was exactly what caused so many people to fail at cultivation—they couldn't improve their understanding of their scriptures and techniques.
Their comprehension was too basic. If they could understand their scripture and techniques well, it would be much easier for them to raise their cultivation.
"Our progress as Cultivators is unlike that of the Awakeners—we advance step by step. But of course, we can move faster by relying on various resources. In fact, there are many types of resources. Some help increase our Spiritual Energy quickly, others increase Will Energy, and some even help comprehension. All of them can be found in the Chaotic World. If you discover anything there, your ring will give you a description of it."
"Chaotic World…"
Oliver showed a serious expression upon hearing that—the place where it all began, a world full of monsters and wonders, a land explored by the Awakeners.
"Before you go there, make sure at least one of your techniques reaches 1% comprehension," Evylin added.
After saying that, she suddenly placed her phone in front of him.
"Write your phone number so we can communicate," she said.
Oliver quickly wrote his phone number on her phone.
She saved the number and sent him a message right away.
"If there's anything you want to ask, just message me—but don't call."
"I understand… In that case, I'll take my leave," Oliver replied.
He understood well enough that his teacher wanted him to leave now and do something.
When he stood up, he cupped his fists to her once again.
There was no one outside the door when Oliver stepped out.
His expression was calm, but his heart was filled with high spirits.
Even though he failed to awaken, he now believed that he could still become someone truly strong.
He had even become a disciple of a Cultivator Association Head.
The only downside was—there was no money for Cultivators. Unlike Awakeners who were rewarded even just after awakening, and got even more if they awakened with high-level skills.
The reason Awakeners were paid so much was because they contributed plenty of resources to the government.
It was different for Cultivators—they consumed a lot of resources.
However, if he could grow stronger, Oliver was certain he could earn a lot of money.
He went downstairs and was immediately met with the gazes of many people.
Those who saw the change in him back in the pool clearly hadn't left.
They were curious about what happened to him—especially because he'd been summoned by the Head of the Association.
"Mr. Whitemoon, here is your Cultivator Identification Card!"
Just as he arrived, the same guard handed him a new ID card, complete with an identification number—despite him not having registered or submitted any ID details to the association yet.
It seemed this sort of thing was easy for them to obtain.
Oliver accepted the ID card, feeling pleased.
Only those who had reached the First Stage possessed one. Although it didn't come with any money, that didn't mean there were no privileges at all—one of them being free access to public transport like buses or trains.
It was said that three years ago, the five Awakener Association Heads in the country demanded that the government grant this privilege.
Oliver didn't care about the people staring at him with curiosity.
He walked out of the castle, eager to return home and share the good news with his mother.
When even the people of the association treated him with respect, ordinary people naturally wouldn't dare bother him.
He left easily and then began running toward a bus that had just started moving.
As he ran, he realized his running speed had changed.
It was twice as fast as usual.
Seems it's true—a single advancement for a Cultivator is equivalent to three for an Awakener, he thought.
This was the advantage Cultivators had. With each advancement, their strength doubled. If it was a realm advancement, the increase was even greater.
Still, Awakeners were more convenient when it came to getting stronger, since they could progress more easily.
Oliver managed to catch up with the bus and boarded it, earning strange looks from the other passengers.
He didn't care. Seeing there were still empty seats, he sat down, then closed his eyes, focusing on sensing his body to understand his techniques.
Meditation—this was what Cultivators often did.
During meditation, they could even absorb Spiritual Energy.
However, Oliver found that it was a bit difficult at the moment. He seemed to need to increase his comprehension of Black Hole to 2% first.
So this is how it is...
While meditating, Oliver began to feel the presence of hidden things within his body—things that might have appeared since last night but he only became aware of now.
He struggled a bit while trying to understand Black Hole further, but Void Body Transformation turned out to be much easier—since it already had some progress, just not quite enough to reach 1%.
All he really needed to do was find a way to move the void lines appearing on his body to one specific body part he wanted.
If successful, that would reach 1%.
If this weren't an innate technique from himself, who knows how difficult it would be.
However, he could draw inspiration from within himself—as the owner of the Void Body.
What his teacher said was indeed true. This was just about unlocking his own potential.
As he continued to work on understanding the technique, he lost track of time.
But the progress kept increasing. He could even see the data despite his eyes being closed.
After who knows how long, it finally reached 1%.
- Void Body Transformation (1%)
"Sir, sir, wake up quickly—this bus needs to return to the terminal!"
Suddenly, Oliver heard a voice and felt someone tapping his shoulder repeatedly.
When he opened his eyes, he found the sky had gone dark and the bus he was on was now empty, except for himself and the driver, who was now waking him up.
Oliver instinctively looked at the digital clock hanging at the front of the bus—only to find that it was already 8 PM.
Nearly five hours had passed since he boarded the bus.
"Damn!" he cursed as he stood up.
"Why didn't you wake me up earlier?" he asked the driver irritably.
"Don't blame me. If you want to meditate, do it at home—not on a bus," the driver replied, annoyed at being scolded by Oliver.
"Now hurry up and pay, then leave," he added.
"I'm a Cultivator—it's free for me," Oliver replied while showing his Cultivator ID card.
The driver was left speechless upon seeing it, and Oliver hurriedly left.
