Daisy pov
"I won't approve of this!" a deep feeling of rage shot across my entire body as my father with a newspaper crumpled in his fist spat at my choice of a mate.
"Why did you have to pick him?"
I placed a couch pillow on my lap pinching at it to calm my nerves. He turned to my step mother, Sasha, garnering support with his desperateness which surprisingly she didn't offer.
"Trent, honey, she is old enough to make her own decisions. Besides his family is good enough,"
My dad looked like he was about to rip off the remaining hair on his head.
"Why am I the only one seeing this?" He looked at me pointedly, "you say he wants to get married in a week?"
"This week," I specified, "which has only 3 days left,"
He brushed his fingers across his face with an exasperated sigh leaving him.
"Daisy, I don't know how I can explain this to you but the man you chose is just bad news. I can contact your two other mates and have–"
"No!" I yelled at, pushing the couch pillow to the floor as I stood up at once.
"You will not do that, I've already rejected them and chosen Robert. I'm not going to be changing my mind. And dad it looks like you're confused. I didn't come here for approval, I just came as a courtesy…"
"What?" He gripped the arm of the chair, " Daisy, how can you speak to your father like that? I raised you and now you want to defy me?"
I couldn't stop the sarcastic laugh those words provoked from the depth of my throat.
"You raised me? Oh please!" I said with a wave of my hand, "... From the moment you knew I couldn't shift you ignored me for your new family, you haven't been my father for years so there's no need to start now…"
A look of hurt flashed through his eyes and I almost stepped back, but then I remembered; all those family vacations where he 'forgot' to buy my ticket or reserve a room big enough to include me. How he bought large lavish gifts for my step siblings for doing anything so basic while I had to go above and beyond for him to just look at me with nothing but criticism.
Before I became overly emotional, I decided to move over to the second reason why I had come here.
"I'm now old enough to take over the company, so I want you to transfer all the shares to me as soon as possible,"
My father's eyes broadened, "You must be joking! You are still too young to–"
"The agreement on the contract was that you would take care of my shares until I was an adult, maybe you didn't notice because you haven't given a flip about my birthday for the past couple of years but I've already turned 18, Dad…"
Dad looked at me, probably wondering where his doormat that he had stepped all over had gone to. Things were different now, now I had Robert.
So I wouldn't be alone even if I caught ties with my Dad.
"Daisy…" he looked at his wife again for some sort of moral support, she just glanced at him, shrugged and went back to scrolling on her phone. Unlike her children that were always picking on me she hardly seemed to notice I existed, which somehow hurts more.
"Daisy…" my dad repeated my name again his voice cooling down, "just go to your room and sleep, you are too emotional right now for us to have a proper conversation,"
I laughed, "is that supposed to be a joke? Well, for your information I've already moved in with Robert from the night I chose him,"
My dad looked horrified, even though I was smiling on the surface deep down inside I was sad.
"you hadn't even noticed I wasn't around, had you?"
Dad looked like he had a lump in his throat, "Daisy what do you want from me?! I'm the Alpha! My responsibility is to take care of the entire pack, I have too many important things on my mind to know that,"
A bitter smile stretched on my lips, "of course, you really have time for the important things, so why would you remember me?"
His face paled, "I didn't mean it's like that, you know–"
"Robert has already found me a lawyer, she's good with cases like this…" I said picking up the pillow and placing it back on the couch in its former position.
"So you have 24 hours to begin the process or I guess we'll see each other in court,"
My dad thought that I was joking until I came back again with Robert and a legal representative, reality took a sharp turn for him. He thought that I would be the one always begging for his affections and now that I was over it he just couldn't believe his eyes.
He finally handed me my shares and other rights in the company, but along with it he severed out ties.
"if I sign these papers…" he had said heavily, "... You're no longer be my daughter, and I will no longer be your father,"
I looked at him and for the shortest moment a flicker of hesitation crossed my mind, and then just like that it was gone.
"Sign it, Mr Johnson."
Afterwards, Robert and I had a lavish wedding that was the envy of all and sundry, it wasn't long after our wedding that I noticed I was missing my period. I told Robert and he got all excited but I told him that I wanted to confirm with a pack doctor.
He couldn't come with me that day for the test because of some company issues so I went to get tested alone. I waited for the results with my heart in my throat and it wasn't long after that the pack doctor worked into the consultation office with a white envelope and a smile on his face.
"Congratulations, Mrs Brown, you are three weeks pregnant."
