Chapter 2: Training Plan
Nighttime, in the underground training chamber.
This was the personal cultivation chamber of the Quan family patriarch, Quan Yi's father.
The chamber was located underground, accessible by only a single passage, and guarded at the entrance around the clock.
Inside, the chamber was filled with all kinds of cold weapons—sabers, spears, swords, halberds, as well as suits of armor and shields. The sheer quantity was astonishing—enough to equip an army of a hundred men.
In the center sat a tall, muscular man, cross-legged. Though surrounded by dangerous weapons, he appeared unfazed, calmly meditating and cultivating his soul power.
This man was Quan Yue, the current head of the Quan family—and Quan Yi's father.
Although this chamber was Quan Yue's personal training space, it also doubled as the family's weapon storage vault.
Quan Yue, a Level 59 Tool Soul Master, was 39 years old. His Martial Soul was the Black Iron Gauntlet, and he was at the Soul King level.
Why would Quan Yue meditate and train in the family's armory? That brings us to the concept of a mimicry cultivation environment.
Every Martial Soul has an environment that best suits its development. Cultivating within such an environment can produce twice the results with half the effort.
Quan Yue's Black Iron Gauntlet, which covered the hands and forearms, found its ideal mimicry environment amid the abundance of weapons and armor in the armory—making it perfect for enhancing cultivation.
"Madam, may I ask why you're here? The clan leader instructed us not to disturb him unless it's an emergency."
"This is important. Please notify him for me."
At her instruction, the guard tugged twice on a rope by the door. The rope was connected to a bell inside the chamber, allowing those outside to alert the person inside without entering.
Moments later, the heavy vault door slowly opened, and a tall figure emerged from the depths.
"Ling'er, come in," Quan Yue said, stepping back inside.
Su Ling'er followed, and the heavy door closed behind her.
In the underground chamber, Quan Yue looked at Su Ling'er gently and asked,
"Go ahead. This must be something important."
"I'm sorry, dear. I know you were in seclusion trying to break through your bottleneck. But this is too important. I thought you needed to hear it."
Su Ling'er then relayed everything about Quan Yi.
After hearing it all, Quan Yue's face grew solemn. But after a moment's silence, he suddenly burst into hearty laughter.
"Hahaha! That's my son! Just two years old, and already so wise and decisive.
If my son has such ambition, then as his father, of course I'll support him with everything I have!"
Quan Yue was deeply surprised and delighted. Lately, due to busy clan affairs and trying to break through his soul power bottleneck, his attention to his son had understandably decreased.
He had thought: Quan Yi is still young—I can spend more time with him after I break through.
But now, he realized: Quan Yi needed him now, and this moment might be one of the most critical stages in his son's life. If he missed it, he would regret it forever.
The next morning, in the dining hall.
Quan Yi saw his father, whom he hadn't seen in a long time. He immediately understood that his father must have learned everything.
Sure enough, as soon as they sat down, Quan Yue said:
"Xiao Yi, I've heard about your plan. Your mother and I have already begun construction on a swimming facility.
We've decided to let you go all-in on this."
Quan Yi looked into his father's eyes and saw genuine seriousness. Understanding what that meant, he immediately stood up and bowed deeply to both his father and mother.
"I will not let your trust in me go to waste."
After bowing, he pulled out a folded piece of paper from his robe and handed it to Quan Yue.
"This is my training plan. Please review it."
Quan Yue unfolded the sheet. The entire page was densely filled with detailed notes:
Training Plan
Swim three times daily—morning, noon, and evening.
Push to physical limits each session.Ensure at least 10 hours of sleep per day
to guarantee full rest and recovery.Maintain a nutritionally rich diet.
Each meal must include a sufficient portion of soul beast meat, preferably from fire- or metal-type soul beasts.
The more he read, the more shocked Quan Yue became—especially the part about soul beast meat.
Extreme physical training would drain energy, which could then be replenished through consumption of soul beast meat.
Soul beast meat is highly energy-dense, and regularly consuming meat from fire or metal attribute beasts would benefit Martial Soul formation.
Even more remarkable: Quan Yi didn't forget the importance of rest and recovery. This idea of "tension and relaxation in balance" was something Quan Yue himself only realized as an adult.
Though the plan was simple, it was comprehensive—a plan that fully addressed all the essentials.
It was hard to believe this had been created by a two-year-old child.
"Xiao Yi, did you really design this yourself?
If you truly follow this plan strictly… maybe… you really could achieve something extraordinary."
Quan Yue felt like he'd been emotionally overwhelmed multiple times in a single day.
"Father, I based it on knowledge I read in books.
But the most important part is the soul beast meat—can you provide it for me?"
"We can buy soul beasts that were hunted for their soul rings in the Soul Hunting Forest.
Most people only care about the rings and bones and throw away the meat.
We can buy it cheaply from there."
Quan Yue's eyes lit up. Even that had been considered by Quan Yi—it was clearly a well-thought-out, long-term plan.
Quan Yue was a decisive man, and immediately agreed:
"Alright, we'll do it your way. Don't worry, our Quan family isn't poor.
Supporting the diet of one child is easy.
Xiao Yi, just focus on moving forward."
Hearing his father's deep and sincere love, Quan Yi's eyes welled with tears.
He suddenly felt that saving that person in his past life was the best decision he had ever made.
Without it, he never would've met these parents.
Perhaps this was the reward Heaven granted him.
Now, Quan Yi had one more reason to become a soul master:
To protect his family. Only by becoming a soul master could he gain the strength to do so.
The Quan family moved quickly.
In less than two weeks, a swimming facility had been constructed—a single-story building with a wide indoor pool.
The facility was built next to a stream, and the pool was connected to it.
When water was needed, the upper valve could be opened to let water flow in.
When the pool needed cleaning, the lower valve could be opened to drain it out—keeping the water clean and fresh at all times.
The clever design impressed Quan Yi deeply.
Meanwhile, during those two weeks, the first batch of soul beast meat had also arrived.
It was sourced from the nearest Soul Hunting Forest, though even that was quite far away.
To prevent it from getting spoiled during transport, the clan members had preserved the meat in jars, turning it into cured meat—which could be stored for much longer.
With everything in place, Quan Yi officially began his training journey.
