Daphne moaned and I rolled over on the bed, slipping my arm around her and placing my hand on her large belly.
“Is that a labor moan?”
“No. It’s a, ‘I’m too huge and want this baby out,’ moan,” she grumbled.
“Soon. I’m sure it will be any day now.”
“Ugh! I want it to be any minute.” She threw the covers off and got out of bed.
I watched her shuffle off to the bathroom.
She was a couple of days overdue now and could go into labor at any moment. I knew how anxious she was to get the baby out given the difficulties with the pregnancy. I just wanted a healthy baby.
“Daphne, I’m going to check in on things at Thorn Forest. I’ll meet you downstairs for breakfast.”
“Yeah, okay. Make me something that will get this baby out!”
“On it.” I chuckled and grabbed a robe. There was a phone down the hall.
I put in a call to the people I’d left in charge at Thorn Forest.
“How’s everything going?” I asked.
“Everything here has been quiet, Alpha Rion.”
