It wasn't until Ava's car disappeared completely from view that Liam finally turned around and got into his own vehicle.
The driver started the engine and asked, "Mr. Grant, where to?"
Liam held the divorce certificate in his hand, its silver-embossed letters catching the light. He stared at it blankly, voice low and distracted, "Take me back to Sunset Bay."
The driver nodded and turned the car around.
Halfway into the drive, Liam's phone rang.
He glanced at the screen.
It was Augustus calling.
"I heard from Director " Augustus said immediately, "You finalized the divorce?"
Liam's voice was flat. "Yeah."
