Chapter 77 - Chapter 77: Trainers Have to Work 007 Hours Too

Clauncher with a pincer on its left arm was incredible rare practically unheard of. In the Kanto region, there were only two recorded sightings, and both were in the hands of powerful Elite Four trainers.

One of them even possessed near-Champion-level strength this was something Silas had learned during a casual conversation with Professor Rowan.

It was probably a beloved offspring of one of those powerful trainers. Silas didn't think much of it. There was even a chance it belonged to a tourist.

Cape Cottage, as one of Kanto's renowned tourist destinations, attracted many visitors year-round.

Plus, it was relatively safe. Even among the ranks of villainous organizations, there were few lunatics willing to risk the wrath of the Kanto League by attacking such a place.

Not to mention that the nearby White Cape was also a known gathering spot for trainers.

If someone really did launch an attack here, Silas figured it'd be hard to tell who was fighting who.

Unless someone was Champion-level, sheer numbers would still win out.

Standing at the highest point of the cliff, Silas admired the stunning view before him. The afterglow of the sunset filtered through the clouds, casting golden sparkles across the sea like scattered coins.

Farther off, the sea met the sky at the horizon, veiled in a layer of crimson mist under the setting sun, making the scene especially enchanting.

Moved by the beauty before him, Silas couldn't help but shout out toward the sea, "Yah~!"

The orange-haired figure nearby heard his cry and turned to glance at him. Startled, the person quickly ducked back again.

Clauncher instinctively shifted its body, shielding the child behind it. Its narrow yellow eyes turned to look at the boy nearby.

Noticing the stare from Clauncher, Silas gave it a friendly smile after venting his exhaustion. He then released his Pidgeot and soared down from the cliff.

After landing, Silas looked a little pale likely due to his fear of heights. He returned Pidgeot to its Poké Ball, pulled out his electric bike, and sped off toward the Pokémon Center.

It was about time to feed his three Pokémon. If he didn't, they'd probably start raising a fuss. He was in quite a hurry.

The night passed uneventfully.

Over the next several days, the elders in the town began to notice a peculiar and handsome boy.

Every summer morning, just as the sky began to lighten before the sun even peeked out he could be seen jogging around the outskirts of town, accompanied by a Combusken clad in a black weighted training vest.

Day after day, he was seen heading off to the beach or the forest, sometimes both, disappearing for the entire day.

It wasn't until six or seven in the evening, when the sun was nearly gone, that he would rush back to the Pokémon Center covered in dust.

For the old folks, he became a new topic of conversation. They had found another hardworking young lad, and some even started making bets on how long he could keep it up.

One day, two days, a week, half a month, a month…

Over thirty days passed, and to their surprise, no matter the wind or rain, the boy kept at it.

Until one day, just like that, he disappeared.

They figured he had most likely moved on.

"Boldore, Gravity, Twist it."

A steady male voice echoed through the forest.

"Bold...!"

The response came, low and muffled.

Opposite them, a green Scyther moved sluggishly under the gravitational field. A grimace of pain flickered across its face from time to time.

Its speed would suddenly spike or dip it was unclear whether that was due to its own control or some other cause.

"Alright, that's enough."

Silas clapped his hands, signaling the end of the session.

Boldore silently withdrew the gravitational field. The Scyther sighed Boldore it had been tough to endure. It was already old and still being forced to move like this.

If not for the payment it was receiving, it would never agree to this kind of work.

Silas nodded in satisfaction. The once-Roggenrola, now a Boldore, had made significant progress in the past ten days.

Yes after thirty days of feeding and training, Roggenrola had finally crossed the threshold and successfully evolved into Boldore.

[Boldore]

Supplementing with various special rocks can influence the properties of the outer shell. (Details listed below.)

This was the specific data about Boldore provided by Zero.

In terms of size compared to others of its kind, Boldore's height wasn't particularly exceptional. However, due to Silas's emphasis on nurturing its strength, its weight was noticeably higher than average.

In terms of moves, this Standard-level Boldore already possessed more than the usual number of moves typically seen in early-stage Advance-level Pokémon. This was largely thanks to the increased knowledge base, allowing it to learn many moves.

Compared to its days as Roggenrola, its training method hadn't changed much after evolving into Boldore.

This was because the orange protrusions on Boldore's body and its internal energy core were composed of the same material. A portion of this energy crystallized into orange gems that were distributed on its body.

Moreover, when Boldore's internal energy surged, those orange crystals would emit a brilliant glow.

That glow often signified the perfect time for Boldore to evolve into Gigalith.

However, many trainers didn't know that Boldore could even evolve, so they failed to take advantage of this opportunity.

This was according to Brock's Uncle.

Prior to this, through continuous feeding, Boldore's energy crystals would periodically fall off its body.

According to the data, if the energy crystals didn't shed for around fifteen days of continuous feeding, that was also considered a sign that evolution was near.

After evolving into Gigalith, it could actively spend energy to produce crystals.

It was important to note that these crystals were excellent solid forms of energy, and many Rock-type Pokémon considered them a high-quality nutrient source. Before its evolution, the formula Roggenrola was fed primarily revolved around these crystals.

Silas let out a small breath of relief, because according to Brock's Uncle, the crystals that had fallen during this period were worth about a million Poké, which would help recoup some of the investment though its daily consumption had also increased significantly.

After evolving into Gigalith, producing crystals was actually not cost-effective, as it drained a lot of energy. Making too many would easily lead to fatigue.

Looking back on the past forty days, Silas now felt it had all been worth it. He genuinely felt like he'd become a monk in training.

While a typical trainer followed a 9-to-9 schedule, Silas had gone full 007. If it hadn't been for the visible daily progress of all three of his Pokémon, he wouldn't have been able to push through.

Silas glanced at the nearby Combusken, who was holding its breath in concentration.
