Overhaul snarled as smoke and flame cleared around him. His mutated body, bloated and asymmetrical from fusing with his subordinate, stood tall despite the battering he'd taken. Ice spikes still jutted from his left flank, Hellfire charred his right arm, and his breathing had grown heavy—but his eyes burned with a sickening sense of righteousness.
"You hurt me," he rasped, blood dripping from his jaw, "then I'll return the favor."
Reiji clenched his fists, Hellfire flickering in bursts of gold along his arms. Every instinct screamed at him to stay on guard. Overhaul wasn't just fighting with brute strength anymore—he was calculating, driven by a vision warped beyond reason.
Todoroki stood a few meters to the side, frost spreading under his boots as flames danced in his left palm. He was bruised and scraped, but his stance remained solid. Midoriya crouched low, chest heaving, eyes locked onto the enemy. They were tired. Hurt. But unyielding.
Then Midoriya's eyes widened.
He turned.
Across the debris-strewn street, Eri sat behind a cracked pillar of stone. Her small form trembled, eyes wide with terror. Alone. Vulnerable.
Reiji followed Midoriya's gaze. His heart sank.
"Midoriya—"
But Deku was already sprinting.
"She's the key," Overhaul declared, his monstrous limbs twitching with anticipation. "She belongs to me."
The ground split as he launched himself after Midoriya, his arms stretching and twisting into tendrils of bone and muscle.
Todoroki reacted instantly. He stomped hard, sending a jagged wall of ice crashing upward across the road, cutting off Overhaul's path. Simultaneously, Reiji created a clone that launched a fiery spiral, forcing Overhaul to dodge.
Hawks descended from the sky in a blur of crimson feathers, sending a wave of blades aimed at Overhaul's exposed side. The villain shielded himself with a curled arm, sparks flying as the feathers bounced off his hardened hide.
It wasn't much—but it was enough.
Midoriya reached Eri.
She flinched as he landed beside her. Her eyes were filled with fear, but also a faint glimmer of recognition.
"You... you came back."
Midoriya crouched to her level, gently extending a hand. "I promised, didn't I? I won't let him take you again."
"You'll get hurt... because of me."
"If it's to protect you, it's worth it. But I need your help. I need you to trust me."
Eri's lips quivered. Her horn glowed faintly, shimmering with unstable energy. Fear battled hope in her expression.
She reached out.
Their hands touched.
Behind them, Overhaul tore through the blockade. The ice shattered under his brute strength, and Reiji's clone exploded into smoke as a tendril struck it. Overhaul roared in fury, charging toward the pair with murder in his eyes.
Reiji leapt in to intercept, launching a barrier of flames that collided with Overhaul's mutated limbs. The impact sent Reiji flying backward into rubble.
Todoroki encased Overhaul's legs again, but the villain broke free within seconds.
Hawks soared low, grabbed Reiji before he could hit the ground, and looped around.
Midoriya stood tall, holding Eri tightly.
Then—
It happened.
Eri's horn flared, releasing a golden pulse of light. It wrapped around Midoriya like a second skin.
The bruises on his arms faded. Cuts healed. His breathing steadied. The damage undone.
His body trembled—but did not break.
One For All surged inside him like a tidal wave.

Midoriya opened his eyes.
They glowed.
"Let's go beyond," he whispered.
Overhaul's monstrous form barreled toward them, his limbs merging into one massive battering ram.
Midoriya vanished.
In the blink of an eye, he reappeared directly above Overhaul—his foot crashing into the villain's skull with the force of a meteor.
A sonic boom tore through the air, cracking the ground, flattening the buildings on both sides of the street.
