"Figuring out how to help Elekid master Thunder of the Gods isn't something we can solve quickly. Later, at the laboratory, I'd like you to capture a current sample for me. I need to carefully study the nature and structure of this alien energy," Professor Christian said.

He continued thoughtfully, "Based on what you've told me, the principle behind Elekid's 'Lightning Body Forging' differs from Lucario's. Its cells have endured prolonged stress, developing a remarkable ability. When stimulated by electricity, they accelerate division and growth... correct?"

Seeing Roy nod, Professor Christian felt a mix of emotions.

This young man really does have secrets.

The concept of Lightning Body Forging training had been proposed 60 years ago but had always stalled on the challenge of "finding the correct frequency."

Lucario managing to master Lightning Body Forging could be considered fortunate—discovering the correct frequency by accident. Given the countless Pokémon in the world, such rare occurrences weren't entirely surprising.

But for Elekid to torture itself with uncontrolled electrical energy until its cells automatically adapted to Lightning Body Forging...

This was absolutely outrageous.

It sounded more like fantasy than science.

No matter how resilient Elekid might be, it couldn't withstand such treatment. Professor Christian suspected that Roy must possess some special method to rapidly restore vitality.

Without pressing further, Professor Christian offered a suggestion based on Roy's apparent ability to replenish vitality.

"Since Elekid's cells have undergone such a miraculous evolution, why not enhance this process?"

"Enhance it?" Roy looked slightly taken aback.

"Yes." Professor Christian nodded firmly. "Intensify the Lightning Body Forging training, increase the voltage, further stimulate cellular activation, and push it to its limits."

"Ah..." Roy stared blankly at Professor Christian, thinking, 'You're so ruthless!'

A simple suggestion to intensify the Lightning Body Forging training meant untold suffering for Elekid.

That's why Roy had instinctively never considered it.

It took someone like Professor Christian—a researcher capable of pure rational thinking—to propose such a method.

"If this succeeds, I predict Elekid's entire body will become enveloped in electricity. Its body will be fully activated, all bodily functions enhanced, entering a Contest Condition similar to the 'High Voltage Discharge' move—approaching Zekrom's voltage level."

"At that point, even without knowing Electric-type moves, I doubt it would matter much."

Roy imagined the scene: Elekid covered in lightning, bursting with amazing power. The image triggered a familiar sense of déjà vu.

Lightning Release Armor, Lightning Mode...

Is that you, Fourth Raikage?

Had Professor Christian secretly watched Ninja Blazer too?

"Thank you, Professor. That's an excellent suggestion."

Roy had to admit that the prospect envisioned by Professor Christian was very appealing.

If Elekid could truly complete the 'Lightning Body Forging,' it would undoubtedly compensate for its inability to use Electric-type moves.

However, Roy didn't immediately agree. Instead, he said:

"I'll discuss it with Elekid first."

After all, Elekid would be the one enduring the pain, not Roy. He wouldn't make this decision unilaterally.

Though with Elekid's temperament, it probably wouldn't refuse.

Roy smiled wryly.

At that moment, the door to the medical room opened, and the nurse led Elekid out by the hand.

"Bi-bi!"

The fully recovered Elekid greeted Roy energetically, unaware that the calculating professor beside its Trainer had just proposed a training method that would involve considerable suffering.

Capital University's laboratory was located at the center of the Pokémon garden.

Under Professor Christian's guidance, Roy entered the laboratory, passing through three checkpoints along the way, until finally seeing the legendary Meteorite.

It resembled a purple crystal more than an actual meteorite.

The Meteorite reflected a faint glare, and Roy felt slightly dizzy after looking at it.

"This virus isn't particularly corrosive to human cells, but it possesses strong psychic energy. We've theorized that if a life form were composed entirely of this virus, its Psychic abilities would be formidable." Professor Christian warned, "Be cautious when observing it."

He suddenly remembered something else and added, "By the way, those who received injections ten years ago sometimes experienced strange dreams during Rest after merging with the virus. This is normal. When it happens to you, don't panic—it's the only side effect of the virus."

"Strange dreams?"

Roy was slightly taken aback.

Were they viral dreams?

Or... Deoxys's dreams?

"Yes, quite peculiar."

Professor Christian nodded and recalled, "In the dreams, sometimes there are emerald dragons soaring through the sky, sometimes ancient dragons burning planetary continents, and massive beasts from the deep sea... All fantastical images like something from fairy tales."

"?"

Roy sent a mental question mark.

"Professor, have you ever heard the name Rayquaza?"

"No." Professor Christian shook his head. "That doesn't sound like a human name. Which Pokémon does it belong to?"

Roy understood—it seemed the three super-ancient Legendary Pokémon had never appeared on Earth.

That made sense. Given the temperament of those three creatures, once awakened, they wouldn't respect any "peace agreement" between humans and other Pokémon. They would inevitably cause terrible disasters.

Historically, Earth had not experienced continental drift or global sea level rise thus far.

"I don't know either. I saw it in the Illuminati notes," Roy continued, shifting blame to the Illuminati.

He studied the Meteorite, which caused Fusion Carriers to dream of Rayquaza. This suggested that this piece might be a fragment split from Deoxys.

Perhaps Deoxys wanted to transmit information to this fragment.

But it never expected that this Meteorite would be contained by humans and sterilized every decade...

While they were talking, several research assistants approached, pushing a cart.

The cart was covered with a white cloth.

Professor Christian lifted the cloth, revealing a vial filled with purple liquid.

"Alright, find a place to lie down," Professor Christian instructed. "After the injection, you'll feel drowsy and need to sleep for a while."

Roy lay on the couch as instructed, took a deep breath, and, guided by Professor Christian, injected the viral reagent into his bloodstream.

Instantly, Roy felt a surge of energy throughout his body, as if every cell had suddenly "awakened."

His body felt incredibly energized, but his consciousness grew heavy. A profound drowsiness overcame Roy, and he quickly fell asleep.

Darkness enveloped his consciousness.

At some point, the world before him suddenly illuminated.

Roy found himself in another realm, seeing "himself" flying at tremendous speed through the clouds—no slower than the Dragonite he had once ridden—creating layers of sonic booms.

A dragon's roar echoed through the sky, impossible to block even at the speed of sound, coming from behind.

Roy's vision became strange. Though his head faced forward, he could perceive a full 360-degree view.

Behind him, an emerald dragon loomed in the high heavens, staring at him with quiet yet murderous intent.

Rayquaza...
