The day of the Mana Measurement finally arrived.
I, with my parents, left for the Scythe's Association in my dad's car. We left quite early in the morning. And my dad took a day off from work.
After one hour of driving, we finally arrived at the Scythe's Association.
The Scythe's Association was a huge building, in both length and width. It had a large logo in the center of the building of a man holding a Scythe in his hand which fit perfectly to the people who fought monsters and kept the world safe from threats. It also had the words "Scythe's Association" underneath the logo. Each country had a Scythe's Association of their own. Our Scythe's Association was situated in the High Rise City, the capital city of Yindrath. Even though every country had a government, it was mostly run by the Scythe's Association. Even if they wanted the Scythe's Association to answer to them, how could they. They didn't possess the same level of power as the Scythe's Association, and if the government threatened them, it would only backfire, so they never tried anything against them.

After parking the car in the parking lot, we entered the Scythe's Association. There were a lot of people. People who came to get their magic power assessed.
We went to the reception desk occupied by a male receptionist. I showed him my appointment from the Scythe's Association website. Seconds later, he gave a slip of paper which had a number written on it, and told me to go wait in the waiting lounge until my name and number is called.
We sat in the waiting lounge with other people who were waiting for their turn to be called. There was a huge TV screen attached from the ceiling with the number 23 on it. One by one, the receptionist called out the name of people, as well as the number they were given. The number I received was 98.
As the Mana Measurement continued on, more and more people kept coming in the Scythe's Association building and received their own numbers and were told to wait in the waiting lounge.
Hours passed by and the number on the huge TV screen was now 94.
After 3 more people, the receptionist announced, "Jin Kang, #98."
Finally, it was my turn. I signed in relief after waiting for hours.
As hours passed by, more aspiring Scythes came to have their Mana Measurement and Magic Powers Assessed.
We went to the receptionist desk, and the receptionist pointed me toward a room far to the left, and told my parents that they can't accompany me inside the room.
As instructed, my parents went back to the waiting lounge, and I went straight to the Mana Measurement room.
I already knew what everything looked like, and how everything worked, so nothing really made me excited.
As I walked towards the Mana Measurement room, I saw two men standing outside the room on the opposite walls. They were in an all-black suit with a white shirt. They wore black shades, and had bluetooth earphone device in their left ear.
Seeing me approach the room, they grabbed the door handle of the glass door and pulled it open.
I thanked them before going in. And after I went inside, the door closed on its own.
Inside the room was a female Mane Assessor and a male Mana Assessor. They both held book-sized tablets in their hands.
After seeing me enter inside the Mana Measurement room, they looked at their tablets and said, "Mr. Jin, right?"
Answering their question firmly, I responded, "yes."
"Wow, you're really young, huh. Are you starting your Scythe career early? I admire that."
The male Mana Assessor said in cheerful voice.
"Speaking of, there were two other young girls who came here before you. They looked the same age as you. No! I'm sure they were the same age as you."
The female Mana Assessor added in cheerful laughter.
"They did say they came here to have their Mana Measured and be accepted in the Scythe's Academy."
The male Mana Assessor said, tapping his chin with his right index finger.
"Heck! With the [Class] they got, I'd be surprised if they didn't get accepted!"
The female Mana Assessor added, commenting further on the girls acceptance in the Scythe's Academy.
"Oh, yeah! They're definitely gonna get accepted with the [Class] they received."
The male Mana Assessor added a final comment, and than they averted their attention back to what was going on originally.
"Oh! Sorry about that! We talked too much without realizing. Anyway, let's do the Mana Measurement. This way, please."
The male Mana Assessor apologized, and took me toward a 8 feet long, see-through, clear glass sphere. It was a giant glass ball situated in the center of the room connected by a much smaller glass ball in front of it. If a person saw this for the first time, they would be amazed by the sight, let alone what it could actually do.
"Now, please place your hand on the small glass ball that is on the black metal stand and let your mana flow into it freely, or you can pour forcibly as much mana as you want."
The female Mana Assessor said, in a gentle tone, and instructed me how to do it. Even though I already knew how, I still listened to her.
Unlike my past self, these two seem to enjoy their work, their time together, and assisting others on giving them a [Class] before they go out in the world and become a Scythe.
Maybe since childhood they wanted to work together as Mana Assessors. Or maybe not because who else could know about it then them.
Thinking about past memories is not a good sign, especially ones that you didn't even like to begin with, so I just ignored the whole thing, and went back to do what I was originally going to do.
Listening the female Mana Assessor, I took a step forward, and stood in front of the giant and small glass ball. I placed my right hand on the smaller glass ball, and poured as much mana as I could.
The clear glass balls, both giant and small, began to change their color until finally they both turned dark gray.
I knew what this color meant, I was waiting for the Mana Assessors to say it from their own mouth.
"Woah?! I-it's A-Class! Can't believe I get to see three A-Classes in a single day!"
The male Mana Assessor said, trying to not lose his composure.
"Wow! A third A-Class! I can't believe it either!"
The female Mana Assessor said, also trying to not lose her composure.
"Thank you for having your Mana Measured by us Mr. Jin! For now, you are free to go, and we'll officially notify you about your [Class] in 1-2 day. Other than that, have a great day!"
The male Mana Assessor announced in a cheerful manner.
"About that, I want to get accepted in the Scythe's Academy, and there's only 3-4 days left until it starts again. If I'm not accepted, my life is gonna be over. I won't be able to do anything. So please, can you help me? I would appreciate it with all my heart!"
I said, with a sad expression to have them feel sympathy towards me.
"Wait! Don't feel sad! We'll definitely help you, so you have nothing to worry about!"
Just as expected, they fell for it.
"Thank you so much. I'm so grateful to you."
I thanked them with a sad expression.
"It's no problem at all! It's our pleasure to help such promising young people!"
"Alright. Take care."
Bidding them farewell, I quickly left the room, and went to the waiting lounge to meet with my parents. I told them about how everything went, and they were happy.
We left the building, ate breakfast outside, and went home shortly after.
